Perrin either needs to include a screw or make sure this fits the OEM roll pin. I spent 5 hours trying to install this and ended up having to drill it out after the OEM roll pin got stuck half way in. The KartBoy short shifter and bushing kit was an easier install than this. Not satisfied with this Perrin item and would suggest looking at other brands.
I tried to get this installed for several hours, it does not work with the OEM pin. I ended up breaking off a punch trying to get this installed and had to drill out the punch and the lockout. If you want an aftermarket Reverse Lockout this is not the one if you have a 2018 STI.
I replaced the stock reverse lockout with the Perrin lockout, then swapped the Perrin for the Cobb. I prefer the Cobb lockout overall. While the Perrin piece is nice and gives the shifter a slightly more substantial feel, the Cobb is a little lighter and slimmer, making the shifts feel a little more agile versus the Perrin. A little weight makes a difference with the shift feel. I prefer as light as possible for shift speed and more tactile feedback. If you prefer a heavier shift that has more of a 'thunk' and is a little more buttery, the Perrin lockout will add to that overall characteristic more. If you a 'lightweight' knob fan, like the Cobb /duracan/delrin knobs, I think the Cobb lockout is a better pairing. If you are a 'heavy' knob fan, the Perrin might be a better pairing for a weight knob. Just my 2 cents. There is zero rattle with both pieces, and both are made of quality materials that look and feel great. Having used both, I prefer the two piece construction of the Cobb because the reverse lockout lever 'snaps' back into place when you take it out of reverse (just like the stock unit). The lever is also a little easier to pull up than the Perrin (it glides better and is lighter weight). As someone who does a lot of backing out and parallel parking, I find that makes a difference in day to day use. The Perrin lockout does go back into place if you lube it right, but sometimes it only snaps back 'most of the way' (If you lube the Perrin wrong on install, you have to push back down fully every time you go back into drive, which is really annoying). Objectively, I think they are equal in terms of quality, but the Cobb is basically the OEM lockout design taken to a premium level that looks great and eliminates rattles and the cheap plastic feel. The Perrin is a different design entirely and would be good for anyone that wants to make the overall shifter thicker and more substantial. The fact that you can pick your color with the Cobb is great. I like the added red accents. This looks great paired with Cobb knob. Both lockouts are a bit pricey for what they, but, I think they're worth it due the upgrade you get in both aesthetics and shift feel.
High quality, works great. For the price I feel they should supply a new roll pin. I spent the majority of my install time reworking the 2 cent roll pin. I highly recommend getting a new one before you do the install
This thing is beautiful and feels top quality. However, it does not work with my favourite “Killer B Motorsport Type-R Shift Knob Black Brushed 6MT”. I am not sure if the issue lies with that Killer B shift knob since I also had issues using it on my kartboy short shifter (had to use shave off a few millimeters off the height from the bottom in order for the OEM reverse lever to work). Now when I use that shift knob with this reverse lever, the whole reverse lever cannot be lifted at all.

Q: Plans to release this for the 2015 WRX ubersoph9 years ago
Or Perrin have you tested this for fitment on that car? The 2015 WRX has a nasty tedency to rattle from this assembly from 2nd to 3rd gear and it's driving me nuts!
