Here, you are looking at the PERRIN Shift Stop. This component has been designed to reduce the inherent shifter play in your vehicle which from the factory, will have about an inch of slop from 1st into the 2nd gear gate. And about 0.40" from the 5th into 6th gear gate.
This component is made using durable aluminum materials and will come powder-coated in a nice black finish for corrosion resistance. Additionally, this will come with hardware and an Allen wrench to help with the installation.

I'm surprised that Subaru didn't put this in from the factory. They have one on the 5-6 (+ lockout rear) side of the pattern but left a gaping hole on the 1-2 side (middle 3-4 is perfect from the factory as well). Adding this and tunning out the 1-2 slop make the package complete. 100% satisfied!

Quick and easy install. Just be careful with the tiny screws. Use a paper towel wedged down in the open space to help prevent them from falling down and take your time. I installed the Perrin Shifter Stop, Perrin Brass Shifter Bushing, Whiteline Gearbox Positive Shift Kit, and Whiteline Transmission Mount Insert at the same time on my 2021 WRX Base.

Arguably the best cost effective mod you can do. Fixes 1st and 2nd gear slip and you can adjust 5th and 6th. My set up is very tight and it’s so crisp.

A: They are there to help spread the load from the head of the bolt as well as give some slippage between the bolt head and the shifter stop when you're torquing down the bolts. Thanks.

A: Yes the PERRIN shifter stop will fit on the 2019's, Now the 2018+ WRX's might use the new part number PSP-INR-019 depending on if you have the OEM short shifter or not.
