PERRIN Shifter Bushings
Subaru 5MT Models (inc. 2002-2014 WRX)
Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct proudly carries a great selection of quality aftermarket performance products brought to you by PERRIN Performance.
These are the PERRIN Shifter Bushings. These bushings feature durable polyurethane construction to improve the overall shifter feel and preciseness of your vehicle. The factory bushings inevitably will become soft and worn out over time and mileage which can cause a sloppy shifter feel and movement. The PERRIN units relieve this issue with their direct replacements.

Got these as a part of the Short Shifter Adapter kit, but wanted to review them separately since I installed them separately. Not a huge difference in feeling when installed. As you shift through the gears, these are not immediately noticeable but when you compare them side to side with the stock bushings you can understand why these help to stiffen things up. One Note - The instructions are not very clear. You can get to the bushing much easier than they describe, hoist the tranny a bit and take off a few 14mm bolts to get your hands up there. Its a tight squeeze with the o2 sensor there, but you can get it done with some patience. FYI the stock bushing is one rubber piece, push it through either side and you are on the way.
In all, I had the following installed to replace the stock items: STI Transmission Mount Subaru 5MT Models Perrin Rear Shifter Bushing Subaru Models Perrin Shifter Bushings Subaru 5MT Turn In Concepts (TIC) 5MT Lever Pivot Bushings TiC Subaru Shift Linkage Bushings Marked increase in shifter feel and marginal increase in nvh but it actually sounds good to me - sporty. My wife hasn't even noticed it... I chose to go with the Perrin shifter bushings as theirs is 88a Durometer whereas Kartboy's is 95A Durometer which means Perrin's is a little softer... excellent upgrade and tremendous bang for the buck.
This is a vast improvement over the Subaru stock front bushing. I can't believe they would put together a car as great as the WRX and use shifter bushings that feel like they are from a '89 Escort. Best first mod I could have done! And let's not forget the great service and pricing from RallySportDirect.
excellent product and great value. fits perfect and tight and love the instruction paper. The shifting feels superb after replacing both bushing with kartboy short throw .Thanks RSD.
