This is the PERRIN Performance Radiator Shroud. This shroud has been designed to improve the overall cooling efficiency by channeling the incoming airflow to make direct contact with the face of the radiator. Typically under driving conditions, the air would hit the face of the radiator and then get deflected in all other directions. The shroud prevents the air from getting deflected into the engine bay forcing more air to stay in contact with the radiator.
Additionally, other benefits include improved engine bay aesthetics, along with a place to put your tools while performing maintenance.

I replaced defective OEM radiator with a 2-core Mishimoto one. Since it's beefier / bulkier radiator, it fits somewhat loose. I originally bought this shroud to dress-up the engine bay, but to my surprise, it also made the Mishimoto radiator sit sturdy! I decided to go with the Mishimoto radiator stays. The color / texture match the intake manifold nicely! Very easy to install.

wow what an easy install. great detail to my engine dept. quality materials. fits perfect.
I actually bought this cover once before for an 02 WRX I had and I liked it so much I bought it again. What I like is that it’s rigid but light. It makes the engine look SO much better and super easy to install, perfection on Perrin’s part!
This looks great under the hood and compliments the Perrin alternator cover I have

A: There is not any difference int heat transfer benefits/drawbacks in this particulate application. The shroud is designed to guide the air, not to isolate any components with a thermal barrier.
