    this is a fantastic upgrade - especially if you're looking for a little more space in the engine bay. intuitive install - the only thing i dont like is the cut on the bottom hose... which is very close to an elbow in the hose... it feels like it wants slightly more room to clear the bend, but other than that its a fantastic upgrade and one that i would have made much earlier if i had known how much clearance you gain. used a cobb 1.1 bar cap to go with the sti 1.3 bar cap paired with a koyo radiator.

    I’m normally not one to write reviews but this thing is perfect. Purchased for my GC8/WRX swap and as soon as I mounted it I ordered another on for my 2008 STI. Great fitment and great appearance.

    This piece is very well made and supports a US company but it still hurt a bit paying that much for it. The Mishimoto tanks have poor long-term reviews so I stayed away, and the Moroso tank is cheaper but uses a proprietary cap, which to me negates the price savings since I would have to buy at least one extra cap since I cannot easily replace the cap. So I was left with the Aluminati. I have a 2.0L WRX intake manifold on my STI EJ257 block but the fitment is supposed to be for both STI and WRX models so I am not sure why I ran into issues but regardless I did. This unit sits very close to the block coolant drain port, much closer than the factory unit does, which means your 90 degree coolant hose will have to make a much steeper turn to connect, possibly stressing the hose more than the original connection would. To get around this, and for increased temperature management, I ordered a PTFE (durable plastic) header tank spacer kit from Rally-Tech, a British company. This will space the header tank slightly further out again from the manifold giving the 90 degree downturn hose the proper space to make the turn, and also serves to isolate the tank from temperature transmission into the manifold. The additional expense of the PTFE spacers made this tank quite a pricey modification but my old tank was nasty and I followed the 'buy once, cry once' model.
