Moroso Steel Oil Pan - Subaru Models (inc. 2002-2014 WRX / 2004-2014 STi)
Manufacturer Part # 20966
Deep Sump pans offer improved oil control over stock pans because of their increased capacity. They are specially baffled with a swinging trap door. The one-way baffle keeps oil contained in the pickup area to prevent oil starvation under hard acceleration.
Manufactured from steel with a 3/8in thick laser cut oil pan rail. This provides a rigid flange for leak-free sealing
Windage Tray for increased horsepower saving and oil control
N.P.T. fitting that can be used for crank case ventilation or for head drainback
Oil Pump Pick up and o-ring included
High Grade Mounting hardware included
Wet Sump, 5 Quart Capacity Moroso oil pans come with a magnetic oil drain bolt. The size is 1/2x20 so if you order an aftermarket bolt make sure to order one with the correct thread size and pitch. This is not the same as the OEM Subaru size.

1/2 NPT drain plug

It's actually 3/4 x 16 and not magnetic. I ordered a Fumoto F101 (which is 1/2 x 20) but I would have needed to get the T-204 (3/4 x 16). See http://www.wrshose.com/images/products/fitting_size_chart.jpg Great pan though, fitment was superb. No leaks. Just need to update the drain bolt size in the description to avoid having other people get the wrong aftermarket valve.
drain plug is NOT 1/2 x 20

They must have changed something with the design of this pan, just eyeballing it it looks like 3/4 NPT and is NOT magnetic..
Solid, perfect capacity, good fit.

Nothing extra to say except that like FredtheGypsy, I too had issues with the dipstick. Ended up destroying the o-rings trying to get it in. Would be nice if the drain plug was the same size as stock, since I had already purchased a Fumoto drain valve for the factory pan. Only other complaint is the studs are garbage and after only ~1000 miles (car is not driven in the winter)were already rusting.
Great Oil Pan

Just installed in an '08 STI and can confirm fitment with the Tomei equal length header, tons of room even with the wrap. Dipstick mount is a little tricky as you might want to bevel the edge to keep from butting o-rings..though that is literally the only problem I found. It's really nice. Great product, nice pick up design and even comes with studs so you don't have to worry about smearing the sealant all over the place when installing. Hell, this thing is beefy enough to use as an engine stand during the build though I doubt Moroso will endorse that.

Q: Oil temperature sensor abossler04427 1 year agoAnswer
Could the upper NPT fitting be used for an oil temperature sensor? I would prefer using a fumoto valve on the drain hole, and don't know of a way to do both with the drain hole.
A: Yes, you can replace any plug with an NPT adapter that would allow you to run an oil temperature sensor.

Will I still be able to use my stock 07 STI dip stick, since there is additional oil capacity and may not get an accurate oil level reading? Thanks
A: Your OEM Dipstick should be compatible and give accurate readings.
