The Prova Oil Filter is a must for those who want the best. With improved filter media this filter can capture particles as small as 12 microns whereas the stock filter is good to about 30 microns.

The pressure relief valve has been enhanced to keep the pressure up to make sure everything gets filtered properly.

I drive my car hard. I had subaru change the oil w/ their oil but use this filter. The oil didn't last as long as it did w/ the stock filter by 1,000 miles in my experience. I am going to try cusco next, and if the same happens, im going with the stocker

Great Product

While the price may be a tad steep. Quality shows right off the bat and I ordered a few for future oil changes. Clean Oil Is Cool.

instantly you can tell this is quality. Ran this on my car during autocross and had great results. I was eating oil but that was because I blew my ringlands during the event but still this held strong. Highly impressed with results and quality.

What's the difference between this and a oem subaru filter? durability?

    • A: This filter will catch finer material than a stock filter, and it also has a higher pressure rating for the oil bypass.

i see that the description states 12 micron filtration. what percentage of particles that are 12 micron will this filter catch? 50%? 60%? 90%?

    • A: Unfortunately an exact figure is not available. While the filter is rated at 12 Microns, and most particles of that size will be caught, it is unlikely that the capture rate will be 100%.

Do these Prova Sports oil filters have magnets built in?

    • A: Hello, these oil filters do have built in magnets. They will work very well to pull those small particles out of the oiling system, especially when paired with magnetic drain plugs.

Will this oil filter fit a 2013 Scion FR-S FA20 engine? I know the Factory Subaru oil filters that this vehicle takes are different than that of a EJ engine both internally and externally(size).

    • A: This will work the FA20 series motor no matter BRZ or FRS. We have successfully used this filter on a BRZ with no issues.
