I love this. If installed and bleed properly, it will keep your temps well below factory. Install was super easy and pain free. Took less than an hour, and that is including bleeding the system.
It is a great quality, boxy besign but does fit. It is a pretty tight fit if you have everything stock. You’ll have to trim upper and lower radiator hoses and remove cover of air pump. Otherwise it work great. Drain is oversized and in original location and come with two sized fittings for coolant bleed but it’s not a true taper thread so use a good thread sealant. Just wish it had the trans cooler or oil cooler options like the CFS race radiators CSF7042O.
So after completion of the kit on my 08 STI all in all was easy and looks great. Only issue I had was after bleeding process I still had off the chart temps at around 250 degrees. Finally take it to my mechanic and turns out it was the mishimoto caps that was causing the overheating. He said “it was releasing pressure” so he ended up putting some OEM caps and ran it for a good hour and it was operating normally. If anyone has any reasons why, please shoot some knowledge, thanks.
Bought this for my 09 STi needed to do my timing belt maint so decided to upgrade the rad. The only thing that i dont like is the coolant overflow tank is hitting a part of the engine. All in all it does what its meant to do.
My old rad legit exploded as I was driving through salt lake, lucky for me I was able to peice it back together with epoxy and limp it over to my bois at RSD and they hooked me up with one of these bad boys. Thanks RSD you the hommie

As I was reading the description of the product I noticed a caution about not using the provided mishimoto radiator cap? Is that correct or am I miss understanding? Should I use the stock radiator cap?

A: Actually RSD is incorrect. You use the provided 1.3bar Mishimoto cap on the expansion tank. The Mishimoto cap is a 2 valve cap. You use a one valve cap like the factory cap on the radiator. Using a 2 valve cap on the radiator will cause overheating. If you want a higher pressure cap for the radiator, make sure it's a 1 valve 1.1bar cap.

A: Typo correction for the radiator cap. 1.3bar 1 valve cap. NOT 1.1bar

Q: Coolant temps Richard4 years ago
What kind of a difference do the people who've run this notice? My car runs between 180-185 while running and 190-195 on idle, how much of a difference would this radiator make?

A: It would depend on your elevation, ambient temps, and what your vehicle has done to it. As a general rule, the added capacity will lower cruising temps slightly and help fight overheating when running the vehicle hard for an extended period of time.
