Swapped out a non-oil cooler sandwich plate for this thermostatic one when I installed my oil cooler. This is a solid product! It seems quite durable and all the fittings/ports seal up nice leaving no leaks. Living in a cold climate and having an oil cooler for the hot summers this is a must have. I highly recommend this to anyone needing a thermostatic plate.
I installed this and the Mishimoto oil cooler last week. For the 2011 STi, In order to make ot fit I had to point this in the opposite direction from the way the Mishimoto Youtube videos recommend, add some 90 degree fittings, and adjust them so the hoses ran closer to the headers. I wrapped the hoses well with hear insulation tape. No leaks or other issues. Altogether, the whole thing works well to keep my oil cooler.

A: The fitting between the two oil cooler lines are just for machining. The port on the side accepts the NPT fitting. If that won't work for you, give us a call and we can order in their rear mount plate which is a little more compact and has two fittings, one on each side of the plate.

Q: adapter caalmei405776 years ago
I have a 2005 sti that I am rebuilding due to a spun rod bearing. I plan on deleting the oem oil cooler. What kind of sandwich plate adapter would I need to make this item work?

A: This sandwich plate adapter will fit a 2005 STI and it has M20 x 1.5 Ports for the oil cooler lines. If you have an oil cooler that uses M20 x 1.5 lines to attach to an adapter, then you can use this.
