This was my first purchase of a Mishimoto product...and my last. As far as packaging goes, when you open the RSD box, it feels like this Mishimoto kit is going to be top shelf. Pretty much went downhill from there, unfortunately. Needed some new hoses for a turbo and TMIC swap I was doing to my WRX. I double checked what I needed, verified this kit with RSD chat support, and then paid $22 in shipping to get it quickly. I would have been better off with an inexpensive kit off eBay or Amazon. My main gripe is the y-pipe. The internal diameter of the turbo outlet end is smaller than indicated. It would not fit over my turbocharger. It's not that it was a tight fit and I didn't try--trust me, I had worked on a very tight fitting inlet hose a couple days before--it was sized too small to use. So, that part of this kit was useless to me. Had I not needed to BPV hose so badly, I would have just returned the whole kit for a full refund. The clamps are meh. I ended up not using the ones for the BPV hose because they were too small. They aren't bad clamps in general, butplenty of people comment they BPV ones are too small to use. As mentioned, save your money and buy an eBay-special for these hoses. I could tell no difference in quality between off-brand and these Mishimoto hoses that are more expensive. And the knockoff brand hose actually fit onto my turbo properly.

I bought this set to replace some very old and somewhat worn out Samco IC hoses. The short version of this review is I should have stuck with Samco, but these work good enough. The quality of the hoses are good, the t-bolt clamps that I used fit and worked perfectly. I did not use the BPV hose clamps as that hose did not need to be replaced and I left the Samco in place. I did run into a bit of a problem though. I ended up having to trim 3/8" of material off of each of the IC connections on the Y pipe. On the plus side I contacted Mishimoto support via email and they responded almost immediately. We discussed a few options before they recommended trimming the piece. They even went so far to say that if it still did not fit after being trimmed they would work with RSD directly to allow for a full refund. Fortunately, it did not come to that. Now that the hoses are installed I have noticed one other troubling fact. I am no longer hitting my target boost. In fact, I'm about 3-4 psi short of where I was the day before I installed the new hoses. I verified the connections and checked to ensure I have no boost leaks. I then compared the inside of the Mishimoto hose vs the Samco and I believe this might be where I'm seeing the difference in boost. When you look inside the Samco Y pipe where it splits off to go to the driver's side IC connection there are smooth bends. Looking inside the Mishimoto hose in the same location there are sharp 90 degree corners. While I have no science to back up this claim I believe this is causing a slightly more restrictive flow compared to the smooth bends of the Samco. I really enjoy doing business with RSD and they have always done everything they can to help me out, so I will be keeping the Mishimoto hoses. If RSD decides to sell the Samco hoses though I will immediately buy a set to replace these.

The quality of the WRX Mishimoto hose kit seems to be build pretty good and solid. The y-pipe didn't seem to fit exactly as it should. The hose clamps were a let down, they look great and seem to be very high quality until you try to use them. The ones for the blow off valve couldn't be used as they weren't large enough. The OEM blow off valve dump hose is very very difficult to get off, but the Mishimoto was a lot easier to put on if you have good hose clams to replace the OEM ones, and some WD40. No real performance enhancement but I did notice I had a bunch of blow by on my old hoses so this should stabilize boost.

Installed these after noticing my old, OEM hoses cracking and generally not sealing well on my turbo. Beware: The boost blow-by tube is an utter PITA to replace in this kit. Also, not impressed with the hose clamps Mishimoto provided. You're better off with OEM clamps. Looks great and functions great, though!

will these help my 03 wrx perform any better? any hp or better flow?

A: Technically these will help with better airflow to and from the intercooler, but whether a noticeable difference can be seen is arguable. These are a stronger than factory replacement for old and dry-rotted y pipes which work great.
