Just had my firewall welds repaired and ordered this part a while back; just never got around to installing it. Question is: will this prevent/help prevent my firewall welds from cracking again in the future?? Thanks!

  • Q: Please Confirm Material  Ferny3 years ago

Can you please confirm the steel alloy that this brace is made from? Ledloy (12L14) is generally not suitable for applications requiring welding (high sulfur content causes the welds to have a habit of failing). Thanks.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Grimmspeed was able to respond to this inquiry and we will be removing the 12L14 label. They mentioned the labeling was outdated and had not been altered for a few years. They are constructed out of mild steel and then powdercoated and they have not had any issues with weld failure.

    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This is for some Legacy GT models that are quipped with VDC. Both of them will work on the Impreza lineup.
