Description

RaceComp’s classic “Yellow” high performance lowering springs are now available for the new WRX! These new springs lower the car approximately 22mm and include new replacement bumpstops to maintain as much travel as possible on the lowering sensitive VA chassis. Spring rates are an aggressive 350 lbs/in front and 330 lbs/in rear. With a stance to match the performance, these springs utilize the knowledge RaceComp has gained from years of chassis set-up experience to maximize handling, retain ride comfort, and improve the look of your WRX. RCE’s goal was to help cure the crippling understeer that adds to lap times at the track and autocross course. Studying the design of the new suspension, a more aggressive performance spring has been produced that retains available bump travel, matches the OEM dampers, and works in conjunction with the new rear motion ratio. The result is a car that handles extremely well from corner entry to corner exit.

RCE Yellow on 2016 WRX
JM 2 months ago
If you are looking for a mild drop and slightly more aggressive handling over stock then RCE Yellows are the way to go. Installation is straight up and easy if you don't mind getting dirty and have all the tools needed (torque wrench, spring compressor, etc...). Everything went on quick and looked great after installation. I've had them on my car for over 4 months now, and in my opinion this is how the WRX should feel coming from the factory. RCE definitely did their homework and nailed it with these springs. If you have crappy roads then I don't recommend these as you will feel just how bad the road is. You'll get some more noise and feel but that is to be expected. Overall a great mod and worth the money.

I installed rce yellows: is it a good fit to install perrin 22 mm sway bar with spherical end links in the rear

    • A: Yes that should be no issue.

  • Q: Using Lowering Springs on Subie's will make it rattle like crazy  Sunman 2 years ago

    Answer

I've heard that installing lowering springs on the WRX's will rattle the crap out of the car. Is this true? Or are the RCE's tuned specifically to work with the OEM struts so that the car won't turn the car into a rattling sound machine... Thanks.

    • A: These lowering springs are designed to improve handling and maintain ride comfort. They don't necessarily make your car rattle.

  • Q: Alignment  Wingate 2 years ago

    Answer

I read conflicting info about the alignment of a 2015 WRX post install. I see that RCE has their recommended alignment specs which is really helpful, but would it be beneficial to install adjustable lower control arms as well? Anything else that would be ideal to install for a better alignment? Is it okay to wait until the car settles to do the alignment or will there be uneven tire wear as a result?

    • A: The adjustable control arms aren't required, but you could install them if you would like. It is recommended to get an alignment as soon as possible after you lower the car.

  • Q: 2015 STI  michaelac555715144 2 years ago

    Answer

I was under the impression that these would be compatible with the STI. The fitment check shows they don't. Is this correct?

    • A: Correct, these are for WRX only. These will not fit STI.

  • Q: OEM struts fine?  evaradar 3 years ago

    Answer

Question regarding the 2015 WRX RCE Yellows. Do we need upgraded struts, or can we use the OEM struts for these? Anything else required to install them?

    • A: These springs will work great with OEM struts. The only thing needed would be proper tools like a spring compressor to install.

    • A: As Nick stated, these springs are designed to work with OEM struts. Best Regards, Larry
