Initially had the fancy Cobb double adjustable, which had lots of problems. Switched to Kartboy-this thing is precise, easy to install and gives much shorter throws. easily the best short shifter for Subarus.

My 12 STi was getting a lot of shifter slop and this was one of my first purchases trying to improve the shifter feel. Shifts feel much more solid and is now easier to shift quickly. The install was quite a pain as the reverse lockout pin was stuck for whatever reason.

Shifter feels great and drop the shift knob down about an inch. The install when as expected. For my 2014 STI I had to remove the heat shield above the downpipe and cross member to access the shifter bushings. The reverse lock out cable was a breeze, I used an alien key to lock the cable into the up position under the car . I also used a hole punch to hold in and line up the hole as I tapped the pin into place. There were 2 zip ties and it took me a while to find out where the second one went. You need to put a zip tie on the bottom of the shifter stablizer where the cable drop out of the bottom of the boot. over the drive shaft. If you don't that is whats making the sound that everyone is talking about.

I bought the Go Fast Bits Short Throw originally and had too many issues. This thing is super straight forward, easy to install, and feels amazing.

This Shifter makes a huge difference!! I dont have any of the winding noise everyone is writing about and the installation was super easy. This shifter is very smooth and does make the car feel a lot more responsive.

A: The factory short shifter reduces the throw by approximately 10% and this shifter reduces the throw by about 40%. This shifter will also lower the stock knob height by about 1 inch.
