The Kartboy Short Shifter and Bushing Combo will restore the shifter feeling in your car due to mileage, or age. After a while the factory shifter bushings are known to become weak, creating excess shifter slop in both, side to side movement, and forward and backward movement. This is a good option to upgrade your factory shifter in your Racecar or Rally Car build!
The Kartboy bushings are made out of durable polyurethane that will surely tighten things up a bit. The short throw shifter itself will decrease the shifter throw by as much as 40%.
Please note for you WRX owners, make sure this is the correct shifter for you. This will fit in the 2002-2007 Subaru WRX with the factory shifter assembly only. If your car has the upgraded SPT/STI short shifter package you will need to purchase the 2.5RS combo. The easiest way to tell this is by pulling down your factory shift boot, and looking at the color of the lever. If it is a gold zinc plated lever, then you have the STI option installed. If it is a dark gray, then it is the stock assembly.

This is a great product and really love the shifts now. Little upset it didn’t come with a new pivot lever bushing though. That’s kinda the reason I got the shifter bushing combo, but other than that it’s a great product no issues.

I actually ordered it and couldn't even get it in because I didn't realize my 06 WRX had the optional STi SS package. I messaged Kartboy about it on their website and they got back to me within 10 minutes saying they'd exchange it for the proper fitting one free of charge. Great product from a great company.
So I'm not a huge fan of short shifters. They're one of the last upgrades that I personally feel aren't needed right away. However, I had noticed an increase in shifter slop and came to it for new bushings. But if I'm doing that I might as well get the shifter with it. The Kartboy one was what I felt the most simple and best priced unit given what it came with. The shifts are great, shorter as expected. But the polyurethane bushings smoothen and stiffen out the shifting making this combination a new shifting experience. I recommend buying this package deal because you will not get the full effect of an upgraded shifter without the front and rear bushings. 10/10 would recommend
