This installs on a 2008 forester xt, but it gives you a uneven shift throw from 3rd gear up like the angle is off. 1-2 is like 1.5 inch distance, then 2-3 is an inch, 3-4 is 1/2 inch then t is 1/4 of an inch. We called cart boy and verified the part number as well as installation were correct. We will be removing this soon, Not recommended for 2008 forester xt.

Between the short shifter and front/rear bushings, it feels like you are driving an entirely different car. Take your time with the install, watch tutorials and browse the forums. Total install with obstacles took less than 2 hours. Positive and precise shifts. I didn't notice any NVH.

Instructions were clear, easy to install, took maybe an hour? I only needed ramps. I had a tough time getting the shift 'fork' onto the new short throw shifter. I'm not sure if it was due to user error or if it's just the nature of the kit. I did receive the package with the shifter through the corner of the box out of the packaging from kartboy. My guess is this is more due to the carrier handling than kartboy or rally sport. I needed to cut about 2" off the threads anyway so it was not an issue.

Didn't think it would make a difference. Love the way it feels.

Overall I am very happy with this purchase. The short throw shifter makes it feel like I’m not shifting a semi-truck anymore. I originally didn’t plan on doing the bushings as my car only had 30K miles on it so I didn’t think I needed to do them yet. I was completely wrong and am very happy that I purchased the kit with the bushings. Attached is what my OEM bushing at 30k miles looked like (yikes).
