For the price I would get it again but a little notchy feeling.

I was skeptical to change my shifter for a while, but finally I read some reviews that said this would tighten up shifts. I have to say after driving with the Kartboy short throw, I should've upgraded years ago. Shifts are much smoother and finally it doesn't feel like I'm using a broom handle in a bucket of rocks while shifting. If you're thinking about it definitely go with this one!
Installed in an 07 Forester XT. Short throw definitely reduces the distance between 1st through 4th gear. 5th gear is oddly far to the right. Removing the retaining ring that locks the ball of the shifter into the socket was the biggest PITA of any car work I have done. Overall, I'd say replacing the shifter bushings is the better improvement to shifter feel. I don't think reducing the distance really improves my driving experience. Be sure to really lube up the ball and all bushings connected to the shifter. I didn't, and had a frustrating squeek until I had time to pull up my center console again.
Kartboy made a great product, the shifts are definitely smoother and quicker, and installation was a breeze. I definitely recommend this shifter

A: This does not include bushings, you would need a shifter rebuild kit or bushing kit as this just changes the height and throw.
