When you are upgrading to a larger turbo or driving the car hard it is important to keep the air charge as cool as possible. Even though the stock intercooler is able to flow sufficient air, it is still only designed for mild driving and stock power levels.

When pushing the car hard, the stock intercooler will heat soak quickly and take a long time to cool back down. This causes the performance of the motor to decline and power to suffer. The Process West intercooler is a direct factory replacement that features a larger than stock core and lower pressure drop. These 2 features previously stated allow the intercooler to flow more air while reducing the amount of pressure that is lost over the surface of the intercooler. These features allow the intercooler to work better for longer and also allow a larger amount of air to pass through the core. The combination of these things will allow this intercooler to handle upwards of 400WHP. This Process West TMIC includes everything needed to make it a direct factory replacement.

Process west tmic 2013 sti hatchback

This intercoller is great. Had a process west that was designed for a 03-05 sti, but modified it to work on my car. Up until janurary of this year got tired of having the wrong one on my car. So as a result i listed the old one on ebay and brought the proper one in the black finish. Love it, very well made, kind of on the heavy side but my iat's are very good and the fitment is next to none. Would recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want to go for a fminc like myself. Also can't complain that this unit will support up to 500 awhp which may be in my cars future someday. As for the other mods, car has bigger injectors, cold air intake, electronic boost contoller, and a cobb v3 tuner. Car was protuned by turbotec tuning in albany ny, and on e-85 it made 350awhp and 400 ft pounds of on torque on a safe tune. On 93 octane it made 320hp 350tq. Overall great upgrade over the stock intercooler.

Great intercooler and great fitment. Full bolt ons, Full fuel system on e85, and cobb 20g all on stock block pushing 445whp and 444trq. Will be building block and head soon. Going to go rotated with either a p&l 30r or 35r shooting for 550-600whp while keeping the pw tmic and see how it can stand up to the power. I'll keep you all posted when it happens.

If you are looking to keep living the TMIC life, this intercooler will not disappoint. The quality is top notch, I like that the fins are recessed a bit to help prevent them from folding over from rubbing on things or getting bent. This is way more awesome than the factory intercooler. An unfortunate pressure washing incident (never let your overzealous friends with new pressure washers wash your car) had me spending hours of my life and doing irreparable damage to my lower back bent over my car straightening out my factory cooling fins with a small flat tipped screwdriver. The back side is all tubular (unlike the factory weird oval crap). I'm no fluid dynamics major, but I can bet the flow rate is vastly improved over factory. The only one tiny nit picky complaint I have is that they could have threaded the bolt holes on the BOV port about 5mm deeper to fit a wider variety of aftermarket BOVs. I was able to get my GFB Respons hybrid to fit, but I felt like I was cutting new threads inside there with the bolts for the last few turns. Other than that, fantastic product. The guys at my local shop say they have tuned cars with this intercooler and other supporting mods into the 400's on wHP and wTq. So if you want to make good power but still want to be living the TMIC life, this is a great option.

Had the tuner bolt-on and tune my 2010 WRX--no fudging with them bolts! One thing that they may not have encountered is that with the new under-hood cowl, which is great for the TMIC, the BOV gets plenty of dirty air and the design makes no effort to block it...unlike stock. Drove 1600 miles from Seattle to Minnesota. The unit was full of grit despite months of prior driving and a re-lube 2 weeks prior. BOV is a GFB Respons hybrid @ about 30% Vent to atmos.

    This is shown to include both a BPV gasket and mounting bolts for the BPV, I'm curious if these address the negative aspects from the reviews of the TS Kompact which are: The factory bolts (stock IC) are too long and need to be replaced, and the gasket included with the BPV is a cheap paper gasket. Will the TS Kompact bolt right up to this IC with the supplied hardware, or do I need to get other bolts? How is the quality of the gasket included with this IC versus the one included with the BPV? I'm ready to buy next week and I want to know this BPV is going to bolt right up without washers.

    • A: Included with this intercooler are new BoV bolts. They are slightly shorter than the OEM bolts and will work well with the Turbosmart Plumb Back Valve.

    I know that most aftermarket intercoolers require a tune. However I know some out there don't. Does this one require a tune? I know that to get the most out of it of course you want a tune but im wondering if it's safe to run without one.

    • A: A custom tune is not required unless you already have an aggressive custom tune. You are correct that a custom tune is recommended to get the most out of the TMIC, but it is not necessary.

    How does this IC affect the turbo spool compared to the stock IC?

    • A: This is larger than stock and it will take a little more time to fill the extra volume, but throttle response and spool will not be affected much.
