This literally fits just like stock. For us CA residents the addition of a CARB sticker to put onto the TMIC helps with passing SMOG visual. Rescaling of maf needs to done and tune away. Happy with Mishimoto’s product.
First of all, this thing is BIG and HEAVY. The fit in my engine bay makes me question what sort of jig they must build this on. I was completely unable to use the black silicone throttle body hose supplied; it just would not fit. I did manage to get it to fit when using the stock throttle body hose, without the rubber gaskets installed. Even with that, there is a fair amount of interference between the turbo flange, and the welds of the heat exchanger. See the chewed up aluminum in the attached picture. Moreover, when attaching this to the support arm (right side), it pulls/tilts the TMIC significantly, It just seems like a misalignment that puts un-do stress on the turbo flange/housing and/or the plastic manifold. That's another issue, this IC is 10x the weight and size of the stock IC, yet it uses the same mounting provisions... Every other large intercooler available hard mounts to the engine in a different manner. Additionally, this bolts direct to the turbo flange, which mean heat has a direct conductive path up into this TMIC. If I wasn't on the highway, I was heat soaking and pulling timing. They don't even supply a replacement duct to take advantage of the additional surface area. MY mistake, I bought this TMIC. MY advice, save your money for the process west or Grimmspeed design if you need a TMIC.
Great welds. Easy to clean. Performs as designed with 22 psi torqued performance tune with a VF52.
