The COBB Tuning Front Mount Intercooler has been designed to reduce intake charge temperatures to maximize the performance of your turbocharger. If you have performed regular bolt-on modifications or moderate modifications, chances are that you are surpassing the limits of your factory top mount intercooler and it could be hindering the potential of your vehicle.
The core of this kit measures 30" X 10.35" X 3.5", and it is a bar a plate design that will come with 2.5" piping. The piping has been fabricated using smooth mandrel bends that won't flex under boost and will provide quick delivery of boost under acceleration. The pipes have also been powder-coated a nice black finish to provide a cleaner look to the engine bay and to have extra protection against rust and corrosion. The cold side piping will come with an integrated provision for an Intake Air Temperature Sensor for those looking to convert to speed density.
Other components include a crash bar, as well as a nice coolant overflow tank. Silicone couplers, brackets, hardware, and all the required clamps are also included to make this intercooler kit ready for installation.

Ok so I got this kit because I’m running a Dom 1.5 XTR 20G my tuner recommended i go front mount for the added gains, I have full supporting mods that are tial 38mm EWG Perrin fuel rails ID 1,000s full turbo back exhaust Cobb sf short ram intake with box. Dom 1.5 XTR. E85 and 91 tuned and the best part Cobb FMIC with Cobb BPV, Oh this went on my 2008 wrx Sti hatchback yes it “fits”. Ok so on arrival everything was packaged awesome!!! The intercooler is HUGE!!!!!! The crash bar is beefy! Pipes with the black finish are sweet!!! Everything was in order, Ok for the install best to have help because it’s very time consuming and I’m very mechanic savvy so this isn’t my first screw of the wrench, The pipes fit and route perfectly but you have to go back and forth to make sure nothing is rubbing or binding up anywhere, But for the intercooler that mounts up puuurfect but when it comes to putting the bumper on with the fog lights is a no go, We tried trimming little by little but the bumper just won’t go on with the fogs :(. I had to hack my 08 Sti bumper pretty bad and it’s still a tight fit as in its snug, But oh well it was worth it!!! The other issue I have is the Cobb overflow bottle is super small and they have it mounted so low it’s a pain to add or check water, There’s so much more room higher that they could have mounted it and created a different design so that it’s more functional as to adding or checking fluid, Yes it works but it kinda disappointed me :( Ok so clamps and hoses all are high quality! They work great and are all sizes perfectly giving extra room for adjusting the pipes to your likings. Ok BPV it sounds AWESOME!!!!!!! It’s extreamly fast and when you let off and the remaining gets recycled it’s loud and quick, It’s not like a whoosh sound but more like a doooffffpphhh sound it’s CLEEEAAAAANNNN!!! Paired with the EWG oh and you can hear the air slamming throw the pipes!!!!! Boost lag is there but when it hits it hits and holds all the way, With the stock TMIC i was dropping off right after it was hitting but now my power holds, The best part is when I jump out of my car and feel the cold side of the pipes they are cold!!!!!! Hot side is hot! This kit is a must have, Currently my injectors are maxed out on both 91 and e85 I will come back with end results after going flex Fuel and a dyno tune, My etune has me right around 430hp on e85
I Just got it installed and tuned, gained an even 30 whp. everything fit perfectly really high quality kit.

Q: Fitment with ETS rotated turbo kit? Padams00055831 year agoDoes the COBB FMI fit with the ETS rotated kit? I am more inclined to go with COBB because of the crash beam.
