This was not a preformance mod. Rather, replacing failing couplers. I cut the lower one back 1/2 inch to minimize coupler flex for my stock turbo and tmic. I polished the cast welds out just for fun. All is well

She gone. 2 years ago
5out of 5stars

The day started off like usual. Rolled out of bed at 6 this morning and got ready to go to work. It was a brisk January morning and scraped the frost from the windshield. My wife was gone. I didn't know where she was but I wouldn't be surprised if she were was where she shouldn't be. Life had bound me to this woman for 33 years as I sit at my cold desk stroking the gray scruff from my face as 4 days had passed since my last shave. I often found myself gazing out the window during lunch hour as I examine the younger co-workers so full of life, energy, poise. Little did they know that life has different paths, and you only get to choose one path that leads to happiness. And my instincts were wrong. The coffee in the dixie cup grew cold. I had to leave. I grabbed the keys to my 2002 Subaru WRX. My wife was waiting in the parking lot because she knew what time I was leaving. Her car packed with her belongings and accompanying her was her much younger boyfriend. She said she was leaving me and my tired old car. She wanted one last race. After all. we met at the drag strip some years back. We both pulled onto the main road where we lined up at the red light. As my Subaru rumbled, she was in a newer car with all the advanced technology. The light turns green and she gone. She gone. And at that moment in acceleration, I realized that the high-pitched whistling noise came from a torn intercooler coupler. I ordered the Grimmspeed Y-pipe kit and have been happier then I have ever been.

Clean and perfect fit. 2 years ago

I needed this to install a grimmspeed intercooler on my forester since it has the smaller stock y pipe. It was a perfect fit, materials are great quality, mating to my vf39 needed a tiny bit of trim on the hose, but it was easy enough with a razor. Hose clamps were also good quality.

V 2.0 is way better! 2 years ago

Many of you may not know, but this is the second iteration of GrimmSpeed's TMIC Y-pipe kit. The first one had a two-piece pipe, but after some issues, they took it off the market. This was a bit frustrating, because for the longest time, I wanted to install GrimmSpeed's TMIC in my Forester XT, but just had the super restrictive stock Y-pipe, and I didn't want to pay for just a random STi one. With their re-release of this one piece design, they've upped the engineering, and made it even more awesome! I covered mine in gold DEI tape to help stave off any possible heat soak, and was so stoked to get it installed with the GrimmSpeed TMIC. Stay frosty out there!

My OEM TMIC an its y-pipe finally became an eyesore in my engine bay. Got this along with the TMIC from grimspeed on my list of upgrades to do. Shop reported to properly screw down the clamp on the elbow connecting to the y-pipe, they had to come from underneath the TMIC. Item was well packaged an shipped quickly.

Good product, lacking a "full" kit 2 years ago
4out of 5stars

I bought this to replace my ever aging stock Y pipe. I pulled my stock components off the intercooler and found that they did not include gaskets for the metal-metal contact points. Luckily the stock ones were in good enough condition that I was able to reuse them, however if someone wasn't able to reuse the stock components, they would have to purchase additional parts. as for the silicon elbow, I had to trim a few mm off of the end that goes to the turbo inlet, not a big issue, but something to note. After everything was all buttoned up, it's a solid piece of work. Looks great. and the included silicon coupler is a nice touch. The added metal will very much ensure that no more boost leaks will come from this part of my car. I would recommend this over any other replacement part.
