It has a deep, rich tone with good volume and no rasp. Paired with a 3” downpipe (Grimmspeed), it really opens up at higher rpms but isn’t too loud. No drone and lots of pops and rumbles make the driving experience even more enjoyable. Straightforward, simple installation, I used Grimmspeed 12mm hangars and Grimmspeed double thickness gaskets. I have always heard great things about Invidia N1s and I am extremely pleased with this selection. (Greddy Rs-Race, Tomei Expreme, Invidia N1 we’re my options)
I switched from a corsa to this exhaust. I like the right hand exit and prefer this look over the quad tips. This exhaust looks great on the car and I would recommend buying a cover for the empty left exit. I have full bolt ons and equal length headers(killer b) and it sounds awesome with this setup. The exhaust fits nice with the Kartboy hangers and use the grimmspeed double thickness gaskets for both sections.
This is the second time (first time on a 2014 STI now on a 2017 STI) I have bought this exhaust with the grimspeed 3in adapter and 2 of the drop bushings. The exhaust is great. Loud especially with the windows down and does not drone on the highway, but depending on your speed can be loud. That is solved with the silencer but I have noticed that it will rattle at idle.
Exhaust came in with in a week of ordering it. Packaging was good and everything was spot on. Installation was fairly easy and took within an hour to do. The hardest part is removing the stock exhaust. This N1 race is noticeably loud, almost too loud at times. Nevertheless this exhaust is amazing and sounds great. Whenever you down shift you always get those pops which makes driving more enjoyable. Would highly recommend this to someone who wants a loud exhaust
I've always been impressed with Invidia and their products. This is my second purchase from Invidia. I plan on also purchasing their straight J-pipe to compliment an affordable full exhaust bolt on. Fitment is good and installation is easy, even with only a jack or drive up lifts.

Q: Sound quality Vknebl993 years ago
Is this exhaust basically the n1 without a resonator? For a 2015-2017 wrx, does it give the car a deep rumble tone or just a higher pitched loud tone?

A: That is exactly what it is :) and this one still has a deep sound, but it will be slightly higher pitched and louder than the normal N1. Thanks!
