Note that if the exhaust you have is designed to fit perfectly as you want it to be, this adpater adds half an inch or so in lenght and this additionnal lenght might cause the mufflers to rub on your bumper. I have encountered this problem with my 2011 wrx (sedan) and the bumper will need a bit a trimming because the rubbing causes a vibration noise. But the production works well.

The Invidia exhaust comes with a gasket that's seems to serve the same purpose. The video installs I've watched don't use them so I was sceptical. All I can say is I'm glad I got it anyway. It served as a spacer not only as a so called adapter. It pushes the exhaust tip further past the bumper with it on. I can't complain about the end result. Great buy.

I bought the Invidia r400 and this as a bundle for a 'just in case' situation and im really glad i got it. I didnt want any exhaust leaks from where the donut gasket is to where the new catback will be. Install was easy there is a slight gap when the install is complete so dont worry about that. Also used the longer thicker screws that came with this to connect everything together than the screws that came with the catback. All in all i would recommend this to everyone just to be on the safe side for proper seals installing everything.

Haven't installed yet but everything appears to be of high quality. The adapter is definitely steel. This actually includes a 3" gasket, 2 bolts, 2 nuts, and 4 washers. RSD Team - you may want to update the description or picture of this product. It's a bit misleading that it's only the adapter and to that point, makes it look to be a poor value compared to other brands...which is false.

A: Both sides are flat but the inside is rounded for the donut gasket. You should not have a problem using this as a spacer.

A: Technically you can get it to work without an adapter, but it sucks and you'll likely end up with leaks.
