Quiet, but not as responsive it seems

I have the stock STI calipers and 4000xs rotors. These pads establish a softer feel and it takes a little more pressure to really get them to lock out compared to the stock pads, but the stopping power is still really good and throws me against the seatbelt hard

Excellent upgrade from oem

My OEM pads became very loud after a while. So upgraded to Hawk HP Ceramics for both the front and the rear on my 2012 Evo X GSR. The stopping power seems about the same to me. However, the pads are absolutely silent and create way less brake dust (I'd guess about 80% less). I'm happy with these. I feel that brake fade is minimal. I'd buy again/recommend to others.

very surprised

I was skeptical at first, but I really needed some street pads since I was done tracking for the year. These were it. No noise at all and the stopping power is decent. I was running Ferodo D2500's with AMAZING stopping power and... thats like comparing apples to oranges. Like I said, I needed a good street pad and these were it. No noise and very low dust with about 2k miles on so far. These come with thicker shims than stock. Overall, very happy with the purchase. I will continue to use these for my street set-up.

Awesome street pad but don't track

I use hawk hp+ pads for the track and use these for daily driving. They do not make a sound which is perfect. Obviously you lose braking power and bite but for the DD pad they are perfect.

  • Q: To OEM shim or not  $teveMac 3 years ago

    Answer

Will I have to use OEM shims with these pads or can I leave them out? Benefits of leaving them in?? Thanks!

    • A: These pads include shims but they can be removed. Shims help reduce noise in the pad and caliper.
