Killer B Motorsport 4-1 Holy Header Coated
Subaru EJ Models (inc. 2002-2014 WRX / 2004+ STI)
Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct proudly carries an excellent collection of quality upgrades brought to you by the metal artists at Killer B Motorsport.
This example is the popular Killer B Motorsport SWAIN Coated 321 Stainless Steel Holy Header. This header and/or exhaust manifold is a great way to increase the exhaust flow due to the smooth bends in the design that will optimize the exhaust flow. This will help maximize the flow potential of your turbocharger which will also reduce the spool time. This is an equal-length design that will produce an aggressive exhaust note while improving the performance and response throughout the entire RPM band.

Beautifully constructed, solid header, shipped with premium packaging to ensure it gets to you the way it left Killer B. I was honestly impressed just opening the box, you don't often see this much care taken with exhaust parts. After the install I could definitely feel a difference in response compared to the factory exhaust manifold. Weight compared to the factory unit is way down. The coating on the header was perfect. I still need a tune to take advantage of it. I'll be doing that after a few more things are taken care of. I've been sitting on this for a while and am glad its finally on the car and not sitting in a box. I know a lot of people are interested in the sound but it depends on your exhaust I'm sure. On my vehicle after the up-pipe is a VF48HF, Cobb GESI DP attached to a MadDad Whisper 3" Catback Dual Tip Exhaust. IMO, it sounds great! I don't miss the old sound at all. I thought it was going to be ridiculously louder based on others describing their header upgrades but IMO its not. The exhaust sound while cruising is much more tolerable with the ELH...guess I'm just getting old since I even mention that. The install wasn't terrible, but, I wish instructions were included for this specific header with v-band, Killer B does have instructions for the 2 bolt version. I'm not a tech, just a guy that likes to wrench on his car a little. Throwing the band on isn't a big deal but I didn't have experience with them and every bit of information helps, Killer B did answer questions when contacted though. Also because of the headers design, getting to the inner bolts were a serious PITA, never mind getting a torque wrench on them, not a deal breaker, just annoying. Overall I am happy with the purchase and RSD provided a good price at the time of purchase and quick shipping as they always do.
First off, RSD shipping is always fantastic. I decided to go up to a 20g turbo and wanted to minimize turbo lag so I went with these headers on my tuner's recommendation. Killer B's build quality is incredible and install is about what you would expect with any header and up-pipe. I have these coupled with the Grimmspeed limited downpipe and the SPT cat-back and I really enjoy the sound. You will loose the 'Subaru wobble' sound but my car now has a deep smooth growl that, although different, sounds more like a racecar. During revs, pulls, or highway driving there is so rasp, rattle, or drone. The only thing I am not super sold on is the coating. There is nothing wrong with it but it my not be completely necessary for the cost difference.
I purchased this header with the up pipe a while ago and finally had time to install it. Overall the quality is really nice and the coating is great. We installed this on my 2007 wrx. At first we realized we had to cut part of the subframe which in my opinion wasn’t a big deal. The real problem came up when the oil filter was touching the header and made it impossible to change your oil. We had to remove the factory oil cooler/warmer in order to have enough clearance between the header and filter. For a subaru specific brand I thought this was ridiculous. Attached are pictures showing that you can’t fit a piece of paper between the 2. I don’t have a picture of after the removal of the oil cooler/warmer but you can easily fit a phone book between the 2. On the up side, I went from tomei uel headers to these and the sound is still nice in my opinion.

Are these headers good for a stock turbo and engine set up? Looking into getting down pipe and rear exhaust

A: It would be a bit overkill for a stock setup, but not in a bad way. This is a killer setup all around and you would certainly benefit from it :)

Q: Fitment with 2012 wrx sedan premium Stinkeye2012wrx4 years ago
Will this require any cutting or removing oil coolers? Also how many and which gaskets are needed and how many studs and which? Does this fit with the killer b aluminum oil pan? Does it come with hardware?

A: Some 2007-2009 WRXs can come with an oddball offset or angled oil cooler. This puts the filter close to the header like in Ssawyer's review. There are a couple of options if you run into this. 1) loosen the oil cooler and clock it until the filter has more clearance. 2) Replace the oil cooler with an STi version of the oil cooler, or 3) remove the oil cooler (some 2009 WRXs come from the factory with NO oil filter. I don't know what he's talking about in regards to the chassis clearance since the header tubes do not come anywhere near it
