The PTP Turbo Blankets EFR B1 Turbo Blanket has been designed to reduce the under-hood temperatures in your vehicle.
There are several attributes that allow the PTP Turbo Blanket to achieve optimal cooling. The outer layer is made from actual pulverized volcanic lava rock which is formed into fabric and woven into a tight mesh weave. They are then insulated with high-temperature calcium magnesium silicate wool, then overlaid with a high-temperature silica fabric for increased durability, along with improved thermal resistance.
Heat created by the turbocharger will be isolated which will also protect vulnerable components surrounding the turbocharger. Any wiring, plastic, or rubber hoses.
Additionally by keeping the exhaust gases within the turbocharger which improves efficiency. When the hotter gases are contained within a specific size, the heat will expand which allows better flow of gas to escape the containment. With increased pressure and flow rate for a given RPM, the acceleration of the turbocharger's impeller is increased as compared to the same turbocharger with the engine at the same RPM but with cooler exhaust gases. This results to faster spool up of the turbocharger, as well as better boost numbers.
Other benefits include cooler temperatures for intake temperatures. The cooler the air the more dense it will be which will get the most use out those running a cold air intake system.
