I noticed a touch less heat soak and slightly lower intake temps using this. It wasn't enough to conclusively say that it does anything spectacular, but when your top mount sits on top of the turbo, any little bit of shielding is helpful. It can be difficult to work with, it doesn't feel like it sticks all that securely and will not stretch. That being said, it does hide seams nicely and hasn't peeled off at all yet (about 4,000 miles since install). If you don't mind being a little flashy under the hood, I would say to go for it. You'll need 2 rolls to do the 2011 STi intercooler, but you'll have leftovers.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: Stock air box 2011 STI Synapse2 years agoAfter doing a good bit of research, I've found that a lot of people are saying that the stock air box on the 2011 STI is not very restrictive at all until you get to the 400whp mark, and that until you get there you should focus more on exhaust parts like down pipe and headers and a good tuner. Would this reflective tape be a good way of dropping air intake temperature if I were to wrap the air box in it? Would one layer be sufficient? I'm guessing I would need roughly two rolls to cover the airbox and snorkel, assuming you only need one layer of tape.

A: This would be a great way to bring down your intake air temps. You should only need a single layer. You might be able to get by with a single roll, but you will likely need 2.Josh P. @ RallySport Direct 2 years ago
