Underhood temperatures can get really overwhelming.  Especially if you have upgraded any of your factory exhaust components. With that said, your factory exhaust components have designed heat shields that naturally protect surrounding elements. If you upgraded your header,  up pipe, or even upgraded your turbo system to a rotated kit, then it’s always a good idea to wrap these exhaust components with a proper heat wrap.

DEI’s Titanium Wrap is constructed from pulverized lava rock, extruded into fibers and then woven into a tight weave which gives this material titanium-like strength and toughness. This improvement in thermal protection helps reduce underhood temperatures, and protect surrounding engine components like the oil filter, water lines, and anything else that can be subjected to heat exposure.

This wrap can withstand up to 1800°F direct and 2500°F in intermittent heat, and will be sold in a 2" by 50 ft section.

Great product, Worth the money!

I had to end up buying 2 50 x 2in rolls of this stuff to cover my downpipe, up-pipe and headers just enough and it works great, keeps heat from radiating other parts and keeps the heat inside, smoked for like 2-3 days and still kind of smells when I run the car hard and heat up the pipes well but works great. Install took a solid 3 hours for all pipes but was well worth it when done, I used the metal locking ties to tie them up, didn't need the tool just some pliers to keep curling the metal band when it was inserted. Great product would buy again but was a good amount of time to wrap nice and tight. Strands also go everywhere on the frayed ends so be careful, I just super glued a line and cut in between to keep the strands from going everywhere.

Great stuff - pretty easy to use

so straight up this stuff is great. I have some experience wrapping custom headers and exhausts using traditional fiber glass and copper stuff. Used this to wrap a bellmouth downpipe for my 2013 wrx. Pros: easier to use than fiberglass because it doesn't require gloves or soaking. Easy to cut (I used Kevlar shears). Looks great and seems pretty durable after 3k miles including a rally day. Cons: this stuff frays like crazy after you cut it! I used a piece of wide masking tape to seal the cut end each time I cut a piece before wrapping it. One downside of not soaking it in water like fiberglass is it doesn't shrink fit to the pipe so be sure to wrap it tight the first time! Great product and very happy. I will be using the 1 in to wrap my uppipe and header soon

I have used both this and the fiberglass I like both but this feels smoother and you dont need to wet this stuff just wrap it and use stainless steel hose clamps like I did.

  • Q: Sealant  Rsti-Typera 2 years ago

Would it be useful to add a coat of thermo tec sealant over this?

    • A: Coating is not needed with Titanium wrap.

  • Q: Wrap  Jey 2 years ago

Is 50x2 enough to cover my header, uppipe and haflway downpipe with no over lapping.

    • A: Very doubtful, typically it takes at least 50' just to do a header on Subaru's.

  • Q: Does this come with the stainless zip ties?  speedgsx9860021 4 years ago

Wondering if this comes with the stainless ties, or if they need to be purchased separately?

    • A: You will want to purchase them separately.

  • Q: Amount of wrap  Charlie Tango 4 years ago

How many feet would it take to wrap headers, uppipe, and half of the downpipe on a 07 Legacy?

    • A: That depends on how much overlap you do. Typically a downpipe will take most of a 50'x2 roll. Headers depend heavily on the brand and header design. You can typically expect to use about a 50'x2 roll to do something like the Perrin or Tomei header.
