I'm ordering my second set of these as I've worn through my first. I have a WRX wagon and had these pads on the front rotors only. The stopping power is truly ferocious compared to stock. Initial bite is great and they work fine on the street even though Hawk recommends against using them there. I had some EBC redstuff pads before these and the Hawk HP Plus easily surpasses them as well. The downside of these pads is they create a lot of dust and occasionally at low speeds (around parking lots, backing out of driveways etc.) they squeak. I feel the trade off for phenomenal stopping power is easily worth it though. Under repeated heavy braking they had my stock rotors glowing orange so I don't know if the stock rotors will hold up to the continued use of these pads. I just installed some DBA 4000 series slotted rotors and I'm hoping they can withstand the abuse better. Using these for track days and then taking them out for the street is probably the best idea but these pads saved me from hitting a deer on the street one night too so I'll be leaving them on all the time. I absolutely recommend these if you're looking for a pad with serious stopping power/fade resistance but don't want to worry if you've got enough heat in them like with other track pads.
after driving an sti with these pads i just had to have them. they work fantastic. they are a great street pad but will also work great on the track. the only thing is, if you use these on the street, get a set for the track as well. once they get really hot they get super loud when daily driving but if you bed them in just right they dont make noise and still perform better than any other street level pad ive tried. make sure you use brake quiet on the shims and dont bed them in too hard. lastly, make sure you have good rotors. you may not think it makes a difference but if you are running cheap drilled rotors they will crack when you put the pressure on with these pads.
