Features & Product Details

If you're in the market for an affordable set of coilovers that won't break the bank, then the Tein Street Basis Z coilovers would make for a great option. These are ride height adjustable coilovers that will improve handling, performance, and the stance of your vehicle. These coilovers feature a sealed structure, in which Tein designed the body to have a narrow shell pipe to allow oil and gas to be injected, Then the body is then completely sealed.

Ride height can be adjusted by moving the lower spring seat either up, or down, making level adjustment simple and efficient. Additionally, the Street Basis Z coil overs utilize a twin-tube system which attains a longer stroke with a smaller repulsive force which provides better ride comfort. This design makes the coilover suitable for all kinds of road conditions which will make for smoother rides at lower speeds while having more stability on higher speed levels. These are a perfect performance suspension upgrade for your 05-09 Subaru Legacy GT!

With the Street Basis Z coilovers, users will re-use their OE upper mounts to complete installation, and these coilovers will come supplied with an optimal dust boot, no-sag springs, and the coilovers will come powder-coated in Tein's flagship green powder-coat finish for protection against corrosion.

got these back in December when my oem struts and jdm pink sti springs went out as a replacement, after driving around 3500 miles i would say that they’re still very stiff so thats a plus when going around the tight corners but i thought the squeaking would go away but they still squeak . All in all would recommend if your looking to replace and on a budget but if you have a little extra cash i would recommend getting a higher quality set that wont squeak as much and ride a little softer

So far I've ran these coilovers for about 600 miles, and I am actually very pleased in how they handle for a $500 set. I've been riding on a set of Spec B bilsteins that were blown so having some new suspension is amazing. They are not super stiff, but not super soft, very similar to stock spring rates but hold their own in the corners. On my previous 2004 STI I had raceland primo coilovers for a little while, and these (Tein Street Basis) are remarkably better with handling wise. I also ran the ISC coilovers on my STI and those were more aggressive. These Tein's are very middle of the road, and handle well for someone looking for a mild upgrade for a daily driver with height adjust ability. To be completely honest, I figured these coils would ride like crap, but they pleasantly surprised me. Instagram @reaperwagon for more pics

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Q: Tein Street Basis Z question for 2006 Subaru OB  tuesdaevo4 years ago

Will the Tein Street Basis Z Coilover fit my 2006 Subaru Outbact Xt? Will it lower the standard ride height? How much? If it doesn't fit, is there another product that you recommend?

A:  These will not work for the OBXT. Part numbers BCR F-07-BR and SIL NS216 would be good alternatives to check out.
