    Grimmspeed aos  3 years ago

First off I am certainly not a mechanic nor do I want to be one. I do however work on my own vehicles from time to time. The grimmspeed aos seems to work great and was super easy to install even for a monkey like me. It also looks good under the hood and not having another component to take up space and already using a solid mounting point was great. I also like the fact it is maintenance free and you don’t need to empty tanks or other things I don’t really have time for. Only 2 suggestions I would make would be to include a diagram of how things go etc since it fits a bunch of models some pieces you use and others you don’t. Not really a big deal instructions made sense sometimes it’s just easier to have an actual picture to look at to get a feel for how things go. Second would be maybe alter the cap somehow the only way I have been able to remove it is with a wrench and it would be super handy to be able to spin it off without going to the tool box. All in all a good quality looking and feeling product.

This is a great product. My oil would always be low due to a stuck pcv valve. I'd go through at least 3 quarts of oil in between oil changes (every 3k miles). Ever since I got this, I'd say I burn through 1.5 quarts in between now. I don't drive the car hard, so it's perfect for me.

Chose this because of the stealthy look inside engine bay. Works great. No more oil in the intake tube!

got this AOS for my birthday and finally got the chance to install it. while installing it and looking through the install manual and videos. definitely would not recommend following it to the tee... if you have a 2011-2014 wrx. instructions made no sense for the system to breath properly. if you look at all the components they are plugging up and how the system is suppose to work, it makes not sense. do follow the first few instructions (taking off the intercooler). disconnect the left cylinder head vent hose and connect it to the T spliter provided. cut a small hose and connect the T back to the white connector that you just disconnected, and the last T goes to the AOS on the most outer. dont disconnect the right side hose in front of the turbo cause that hose actually goes all the way to the white connector you disconnected and connected to the T splitter. you do not need to disconnect the connector behind the intake manifold, but you do need to disconnect the hose under the intake manifold off the black connector but DO NOT PLUG up the hose. instead of plugging it you will need to route a hose from the AOS middle connection to that hose. this hose goes to your intake system (suppose to be clean air coming from the AOS). on the black connector that you disconnected from the intake hose under the intake manifold, you will want to pivot it upwards or towards the firewall. connect the hose to the black connector and route it to the last port on the AOS. then you button it up.

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Q: Process West Verticooler  Diego Z.2 years ago

Will this AOS work with the Process West Verticooler installed?
      • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This mounts in the front of the engine bay, so it shouldn't have any fitment issues with a Verticooler.

    • Q: Clearance in the engine bay  PhengHatchbackWRX3 years ago

How much space will this take up and will it be in the way of a 2011-2014 WRX engine bay?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will replace the stock oil cap. It does not take up a lot of room.

    • Q: 2012 WRX  ItsJonNotJoe4 years ago

Will this work well running 350WHP on a 2012 wrx?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If it's a spirited street vehicle, this is a solid choice. I would avoid this on a track car or a vehicle in a very cold climate.

    • Q: Grimmspeed Air Oil Separator  NinjaGil4 years ago

Will this AOS Grimmspeed work on higher horsepower like between 400hp to 700hp? or do I need something bigger like the IAG or Perrin AOS?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We would not recommend this for higher horsepower builds. You would want to go something like the IAG AOS.

    • Q: Installation  Kuroi4 years ago

Does the installation change if you have a DIT setup?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This AOS is actually not confirmed for the 15+ models. Install will be somewhat similar, but make sure to use the instructions from the specific kit that you end up using, as it can vary a little from kit to kit.
