GrimmSpeed Touch Up Paint World Rally Blue
Universal

Features & Product Details
Grimmspeed is one of the few companies that offers OEM touch up paint solutions for your vehicle. This is a can of World Rally Blue (WRB) that you can use to touch up your side skirts, hood scoops, bumpers, mirrors, and more.
While painting, Grimmspeed suggests the color coats happen within an hour of each other. Also recommended is using the clearcoat 3-4 days after the coats have fully dried and cured to prevent the occurrence of lifting or wrinkling. Note that clear coat isn't necessary.
1 can of this paint with thoroughly coat 1 hood scoop. If painting larger items such as side skirts, then 2-3 cans are required or more depending on how large the application is.
This touch-up paint will be sold individually in 1 12-ounce can.

I had a small paint chip on the hood scoop on my 2004 STi. This stuff has great reviews and seemed to be well worth the price. So I purchased some, took my hood scoop off, cleaned it all up and sanded around the chipped paint. Popped the cap off of this stuff, gave it a good shake and shot some of it onto some cardboard. It came out in a clumpy mist. I inspected the nozzle, shook it up some more and gave it another shot... same result. If this were my first time spray painting something, well maybe it's just me being dumb. But I mean, spray paint isn't very complicated. You pop it open and fire away. The paint that comes out looks to be very nice though. It was very glossy and looked great. Matched the WRB very well. However, the can is horrible or maybe I just got a bad one. So in the end, I cleaned the nozzle as well as I could and got it to spray somewhat reasonably and went ahead and sprayed the corner of the hood scoop. Half way through the first spray, something happened and it sputtered and shot little pieces of paint all over my scoop. From a distance it looks fine, but seeing the corner from my drivers seat is infuriating. Just looks like crap. I'll probably just order an oem scoop or try to find some better paint to get it taken care of. Just beware, the paint is good, but the spray can is the worst that I have ever used.
It sprays paint when it comes out. What'll they think of next? Seriously though, it matches the 02C body color perfectly, although you'll notice a slight difference from areas you just sprayed vs factory-painted areas on the car unless you prime and/or clearcoat where you worked. I recommend at least getting a good clearcoat or some type of protective layer on top of it.
My friend who grew up working in body shops, 40+ years of experience, fixed a dent and then painted the whole left rear quarter panel of my '02 WRX wagon using this paint and the clear coat. He was very impressed with the paint, the color is very very close. It dries fast which made it a little tricky, and it looked mottled at first but after sitting for a few hours, that went away. It should look even better after it gets rubbed and polished. Good stuff!
Needed rally blue for 2009 WRX touch up. The match was perfect.
Have yet to use but expect only the best from grimmspeed. As always excellent service and crazy fast shipping for RSD.

Q: 02C Color code hemo0320072282 years ago
Is the paint in this 02C (color code) or newer 15+ WRB? Also would this require any buffing/polishing? or just spray n go? And does it have clear coat or do I need to clear coat?

A: I believe that this is the 02C color code. It does not require anything, but buffing and polishing would provide for better results. These does not come with clear coat, you would need to purchase that separately.

A: We do not have that available, it would be best to source the paint code from Subaru and check with a local paint shop to have it mixed.
