GrimmSpeed Touch Up Paint GrimmSpeed Gold
Features & Product Details
Grimmspeed is one of the few companies that offers OEM touch up paint solutions for your vehicle. This is a can of Grimmspeed Gold that you can use to touch up your side skirts, hood scoops, bumpers, mirrors, and more.
While painting, Grimmspeed suggests the color coats happen within an hour of each other. Also recommended is using the clearcoat 3-4 days after the coats have fully dried and cured to prevent the occurrence of lifting or wrinkling. Note that clear coat isn't necessary.
1 can of this paint with thoroughly coat 1 hood scoop. If painting larger items such as side skirts, then 2-3 cans are required or more depending on how large the application is.
This touch-up paint will be sold individually in 1 12-ounce can.

The grimmspeed gold paint looks great an matches the factory BBS gold considering the factory wheels are 10 years old great product I also purchased the grimmspeed clear
Used almost 4 cans of paint, and 3 cans of clear while also doing the barrel. Soaked and cleaned factory BBS with purple power. Took the shine of factory paint off with scotch brite. Filed down high metal spots on wheel damage. Filled rash and dings with JB weld. Sanded down with low grit then slowly finished off up to scotch brite. Cleaned twice again with Purple Power. Let dry completely. Did probably 3 of 4 coats with Duplicolor self etching primer. 4 to 5 coats of of base color, then finished off with 4 or 5 coats of grimmspeed clear. If I were to do it again, I would have used the grimmspeed gold, and then had a body shop lay on a really thick clear, never been able to get the finish I liked with clear in a can. After letting dry for 3 or 4 days, didn't have an issue with paint coming off while mounting tires. Holding up great even after a really salty trip to Colorado.
Really impressed, matches extremely well when used with the clear coat as well!
I was so excited to use this after reading good reviews everywhere. Maybe I got a bad batch but the gold isn't even close. Way too light. And no sparkle. So now one peg looks ridiculous. I shook that can soooo long trying to make sure it was perfect. Nope. Should've just got some darker gold spray paint from krylon. Probably will and paint over it.
Painted my 12 STi rims with this. Stuff looks amazing, pictures dont do it justice! Real Happy with product.

Q: Gold Wheels caveman7 years agoWill this paint work for painting my wheels on its own? As in, does it need any finish on top or anything? How many cans should it take to paint a set of 4, including the inner part of the wheels? Thanks.

A: Yes this product may be used to paint wheels. You can use just the paint, but for best results you will want to do a clear coat finish. Number of cans will depend on how many layers of paint you want to do. But for a decent finish and good coverage you will want about 1 can per wheel.Kirill C. @ RallySport Direct 7 years ago
