GrimmSpeed Subaru VF Series Turbo Wastegate Bracket
Universal
Features & Product Details
Once upon a time, Subaru owners who converted to external wastegates had to remove their factory turbo and have the internal wastegates welded shut. This created both headaches and messes. You risk cracking, excess weld slag coming apart inside the turbo, mass hysteria.
GrimmSpeed was kind enough to engineer this nimble little bracket that takes about 5 minutes to install. This is effective, and you can easily revert back to stock if you need to.
Please note that this bracket will not work on the VF series turbochargers installed on the Legacy GT. The part number for the LGT 082001 is required.

The install was easy even with the turbo still attached!
Install was easy peasy. Did this while downpipe was disconnected and during GS uppipe with ewg install. Works great!
Had to install this bracket on my vf48 when i switched over the ewg set up. Super easy install and a good quality product
I purchased this along with an ewg and downpipe. The bracket itself is super easy to install but it cuts directly through the path of my oil feedline. Grimmspeed told me some people had the same problem and advised me to just file a notch in my brand new bracket. Thats a no-go for me, so I shot down to a local shop and they fabricated me a new line in 20 min for $30.00
Actually....I'm not sure how it tastes, as I haven't eaten it, but it fits quite well, and it saves me from the filling-in of welding the IWG port shut. As I'm gathering parts to go EWG, this was near the top of my list as well. Yeah, I could have had it welded, but in the end this is cheaper, easier to do, not so permanent, and gives me one more awesome way to rock the GrimmSpeed logo under my hood (what can I say? I'm brand-loyal). So if you've got a VF-series turbo but want that crazy EWG awesomeness, do it the quick and pretty way, and pick up this bracket.
