This plug replaces the stock main oil galley plug with a threaded oil galley plug. The threads inside the plug will allow for fitment of 1/8" BSPT thread gauges. Makes installation of oil pressure/temperature gauges easy by just replacing one of three stock oil galley locations.

Subaru OEM Oil Galley Plug

Beware. Does not fit all NPT. This plug tapers on the inside and can be a problem if you have a long threaded fitting.

Bad Item Description
dedrickmclachlan92665 2 years ago
RSD you need to edit the description of this item. I believe most gauge sensors are 1/8" NPT, with the exception of Defi and some others. Anyway, you have it listed as 1/8" PT and that is not a full and fair description for your customers. The inside threads are actually 1/8" BSPT which is different than 1/8" NPT. I just think it would be fair to add a proper description so people aren't wasting cash and ending up without the part they actually needed.

please fix the product description.

Product is fine, but description is MISLEADING. I should have read further, but when I saw 1/8pt I foolishly assumed that it meant 1/8 Npt, which is the STANDARD in America. Wasted $18. Be sure you know what you are getting.

Worked great with the nickel plated brass T I USED to keep the stock OEM dummy light sensor and the defi sending unit, everything fit just right under the alternator.

Gauge plug

I tapped the threads to Npt to use it with my Aem Oil pressure gauge. No leaks but would have liked to know it comes with Bpt.

  • Q: Oil Pan  tartarus001009021 2 years ago

Does this plug fit the oil pan (for temp gauge) or do I need to find another plug. Also, does it need a different gasket then the one that already comes with my oil filters looks just like the ring style gasket that you guys sell), that I order from Subaru?

    • A: This is not going to fit the oil pan, this is meant to fit on the block like underneath the alternator. SUB 037018200 is the part number for the galley plug gasket.

  • Q: How many  2011 WRX STI 2 years ago

can we fit 2 of these on an Ej257 for oil temperature and oil pressure?

    • A: Your engine comes with one of these adapters for the stock oil pressure sensor, and you can add one more for an aftermarket oil pressure sensor. If you plan on using aftermarket oil pressure and temperature sensors, then we recommend installing the temp sensor in the oil pan and pressure sensor on the engine, or use both in a sandwich plate adapter.

  • Q: where is it located?  STI dude 3 years ago

I have some defi guages and id like to add an advance bf oil press and temp to my setup. Where would I find this plug so I can install these?

    • A: There are multiple pre-tapped locations on the stock block. The most common location is located behind/underneath the alternator! Thank you!
