A:  It depends on the pump + kit and the application. Most of our kits include new pump pre-filters. As your question is regarding the fitment for a WRX/STi, the answer is, yes, the installation kit comes with a new pre-filter that should be installed with the DW pump.

I'm doing a fully built engine with 1300cc injectors is this a good choice of fuel pump?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

  • Q: Fuel Filter  thescreensavers4 years ago

Is the round orange item in the pictures the fuel filter? So by buying this kit you would be completing the filter change requirement in the 60k service for +11 WRX?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  That is not the only filter, that is a light filter element before the pump to help avoid pumping debris from the tank, the actual inline fuel filter is downstream of the pump.

  • Q: fuel pressure  Dan Harper4 years ago

do I have to worry about blowing fuel lines or orings or other seals using this with an other wise stock fuel system? Will it over pressurize the system Untill I eventually get tuned where it would call for more fuel?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  A fuel pump does not require a tune and this will work fine with the factory setup. It is a direct drop in pump with higher flow.

A:  As Kyle said, yes, this part number works for the 2015 STi. The 2015 WRX is different! It uses the DET 9-651-1010 part number. Same with the 2014+ Forester.

A:  The DW65c is a direct, drop-in replacement for the OE pump. We do have installation instructions available on our site for your reference: http://www.deatschwerks.com/images/stories/products/fuelpump/08%20Subaru%20DW65c%20Fuel%20Pump%20Installation%20Guide.pdf

  • Q: 2012 XT  Rocker5 years ago

will i need to upgrade my injectors if i plan to drop a 2012 wrx turbo with this pump? i was told that the 2009-2013 fozzies, wrx, and sti have the same injectors.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Aftermarket injectors are not needed if you are using an OEM WRX turbo because the 09+ WRX and 09+ Forester XT use the same turbo.

  • Q: 2013 sti  Christianyount177645 years ago

Can this fuel pump sustain 500whp or will it be maxed out?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  There are many variables to that like which fuel you will be running and what size injectors. I would recommend taking a look at Deatschwerk's very own fuel pump calculator to determine if this pump will be right for you.

  • Q: second opinions  wparker6 years ago

So here in the near future I will be finally upgrading my stock 2013 wrx..I plan on going with the invidia n1 cb and catless dp and a cobb ebcs, as well as the gfb hybrid bov..a tuner suggested to me that I upgrade the fuel pump and injectors because I will be maxing them out, I know there will be benefits to upgrading the injectors and pump but I am curious if its absolutely necessary to for a 2013 wrx? Would love to hear from others as well
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  From my research, the stock fuel system should be able to support the stock turbo to its full potential on pump gas and you would not gain anything by upgrading injectors with your mods. You may be able to pick up slightly more power in the top end with an aftermarket fuel pump, but most tuners don't require a fuel pump for your modifications.

I'm at stage 2 ots maps, is this a recommended upgrade now or is it unnesasary?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The OTS maps from Cobb are made for the stock fuel pump and you would not gain anything by upgrading now, but it would not hurt anything either.

  • Q: Not upgrading turbo.   Kooshbag6 years ago

If I had no plans to upgrade my turbo, would this be worth it? I have a full catless turbo back, about to get an intake, uppipe, and a ebcs. The only thing I'm really thinking about in the future would be running a front mount. I'll be getting some type of pro tune of course.

    • 2 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This fuel pump is not much louder than the stock one and it is very unlikely that you will notice a difference in the volume.

  • Q: forester xr  acsclio835537 years ago

this will fit at forester xt 2010 automatic?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Unfortunately Deatschwerks does not list the Forester as a confirmed application but considering how much each Subaru model shares with the parts they use I bet it may work. If you have some down time on your vehicle I would probably try to pull your factory fuel pump and housing out of the vehicle to inspect it and see if the design matches the pictures we have above.
