Was wondering if this flywheel would pair with an exedy OE replacement clutch kit. Already have the flywheel on the car.

A:  The flywheel is intended to be used with the ACT clutch only so I cannot confirm fitment with the stock OEM clutch.

I have a Cobb stage 2 2005 Outback XT Limited, can I use this flywheel and a 2006 WRX OEM clutch and pressure plate or will I likely get slippage?

A:  The flywheel is intended to be used with the ACT clutch only so I cannot confirm fitment with the stock OEM clutch. Other than that though you shouldn't have any issues.

  • Q: 05 Legacy GT - Paired with ACT Heavy Duty Performance Street Disc Clutch Kit  Justin6 years ago

I have an 05 Legacy GT and was wondering if this flywheel would work with the ACT Heavy Duty Performance Street Disc Clutch Kit? The flywheel says it requires a WRX clutch, and the clutch says it requires a WRX flywheel. Can these two products be paired without issue?
  • Q: Stage 3  Evan7 years ago

Going to replace my flywheel along with clutch and I ordered a stage three exedy racing clutch and was wondering if this would be a good pair to it and if anyone has done this setup before.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The Exedy Stage 3 is a hypersingle style kit and include a flywheel in the setup. You will want to verify which kit you actually have to confirm whether you still need a flywheel.

  • Q: clutch and crank pulley  davidmata113835667 years ago

would this flywheel throw a CEL if I already have a light weight crank pulley? also will it fit with a competition clutch stage 1?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Yes, you will likely get a CEL when you use both a lightweight flywheel and crank pulley. This clutch will not fit most Competition Clutches, but depends on what car you have.

A:  We cannot confirm fitment for products we do not sell and have not tested. Typically if the clutch is a stock size it should, but we cannot make any guarantees.

A:  As this is the Street version of the flywheel from ACT its not so light that it has the downsides of the racing unit. We typically dont see issues with this unit and CEL's

  • Q: pro's vs con's  randy11 years ago

im in the process of buying the act sb5-hdss clutch for my 2011 wrx.im hearing rumors that if do upgrade to this flywheel instead of using factory flywheel that i will have to give it extra rpm's when taking off from a dead stop?also the 2nd rumors is the 14.4lb may cause a check engine light as it may be to light for factory crank?please help with those 2 questions!!thanks
    • 2 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Hi Randy, these are great questions that I'm sure many people are wondering. To answer your first question, yes you will want to give the engine an additional 500rpm's or so when taking off from a dead stop as well as letting off the clutch slightly quicker. The reason being is that this clutch uses a heavy duty pressure plate and the engagement is a lot more rapid. If not performed as mentioned the engagement will just be more harsh. This is a typical with almost all aftermarket high performance clutches. As for this lightweight flywheel we have not heard of any customers producing a check engine light (CEL) with this flywheel alone. We have seen it with ACT's ProLite flywheel, but not their StreetLite which is where the confusion may come from. As a side note, keep in mind that if you also run a light weight crank pulley your vehicle will become quite a bit more responsive, and as a consequence, slightly more difficult to drive. The increased responsiveness will also cause the rpm's to drop more quickly and may cause you stall occasionally if taken out of gear directly after having heavy load on the engine.
