    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Q: Greddy oil cooler kit   MXB8 months ago

I know this kit is made to be mounted on its side behind the fog light area but I’d like to know which port (Oil in/out) should be on top/bottom and if it’s equally effective and safe if it’s mounted with both ports on top with the lines running down to the sandwhich plate. Weighing my options and wondering what’s most optimal and why.
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This is not a simple question as there are variables. Generally, the inlet/ outlet on the cooler is determined by available space for the cooler to be mounted. Most ideal is for the inlet/ outlet to be on top. This is to keep the cooler full of oil at engine shutdown. Once the engine is started again, it will take less time to fill the cooler. If the inlet/ outlet were on the bottom, the oil would like drain out of the cooler when the engine is off. Upon start up, it would take a little more time to fill the cooler. Having the inlet/outlet on the side, inlet on top and outlet on the bottom, similar to a radiator. Oil flows top to bottom.

    • Q: Hose dimensions  Rick3 years ago

Do you by chance have the length of the hoses for this kit? I would like to know so I can do a mock up since I intend to use it on my 2004 Forester XT. Thank you.
      • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Unfortunately, the hoses are cut exactly to vehicle standards. You could most likely use this on your Forester as the GD's had a lot in common with the XT's. However we CANNOT confirm.

    • Q: What do the brackets attach to?  shelbyglhs63694844 years ago

I have a V7 Sti and am interested in this oil cooler. Do the brackets attach to oil cooler to the bumper cover or the bumper support? I have an APS FMIC and it replaces the stock bumper support. Do you have any pictures of the oil cooler installed in the car?
      • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Sorry but we do not have any photos of this installed on a car. This would probably require custom mounting with a front mount intercooler as this oil cooler would be in the way of the core up front or it would be in the way of the piping with a side mount.

    • Q: fmic fittment?  shapirotrevor809567 years ago

can this part be installed in conjunction with a fmic? as in will the cooler get in the way of piping?
      • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It does depend which intercooler kit, but in most cases this oil cooler would be in the way of the piping. There are usually ways to mount it but it may have to be a custom setup.

    • Q: Installation of Oil Cooler  Pan8 years ago

May I ask if the installation of this Greddy Oil Cooler Kit(GRE 12064605) requires the removal of the fog lights and brackets? My GDF Sti is still on stock TMIC. Thanks
      • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The design that Greddy made, is for the heat exhanger to be mounted behind the fog light cover on the front left side.
