Description

The Tomei Equal Length Exhaust Manifold was designed to get optimal performance gains for your 2004-2015 STI/2008-2014 WRX. These headers are an equal length, 4-2-1 designed to flow exhaust gases more efficiently through the power band.

Designed with quality at the highest priority, these manifolds are made using 2.5mm SUS304 stainless steel to give you a lifetime of performance. Additionally, the Tomei unit is much lighter than the OEM example, and the smooth bends in the manifold tubing will limit turbulence under acceleration which will help reduce turbo lag while adding more horsepower and more torque.

The header will come provided with hardware, gaskets, metal zip ties, up pipe, and heat wrap to make for a ready and complete installation.

Awesome kit especially for the price! Really like the way it made the car sound. No regrets on losing the rumble. Great bang for the buck!!

Cant beat these headers for the price
kadenhopper0448660 8 months ago
Just put these on my 2004 Sti with high flow invida downpipe and invidia N1 catback. Do not be afraid of going equal length and losing the rumble, yes some of the rumble goes away but not much at all and I love these headers. 10/10 would purchase again.

Tomei ELH for 08 OBXT
ShiiftyBiscuits 8 months ago
I recently installed this header on my 2008 Outback XT. The header, hardware, and heat wrap are of high quality and can not be beaten for the price. Installation was lengthy but not hard. The downpipe and intercooler must be removed for the install. Removal of the stock uppipe was a little tight, but can be achieved without lifting the engine or cutting the frame. Fitment of the manifold and uppipe was almost perfect. I torqued down the uppipe to turbo connection before installing the manifold. Tightening the uppipe to manifold flange was probably the most difficult connection to torque down. As far as the sound goes...I have a Cobb downpipe, AVO mid and Y pipe, stock mufflers, and I noticed that it is louder than the stock manifold during cold start-ups, but quieter the rest of the time. I personally enjoy the sound, and despite what others say, it still sounds like a Subaru. As far as performance goes…I have seen a slight increase in fuel economy, but takes a little longer for the turbo to build up pressure in the intake manifold. The car seems to operate more like a NA engine while not in boost and feels a little more torquey down low as it pulls easier from rest. More importantly, equal length headers are supposed to be healthier for the motor as heat is drawn away from the heads easier, especially in cylinders 2 & 4, resulting in less knock, and potential for ring land failure, along with a reduction in engine back pressure. Overall I am very pleased with this product and am not planning on going back to ULH.

Was doing a full build on my 07 STI and decided to give Tomei a try and I'm glad I did I paired the header with a invidia catless DP and the invidia N1 Race Catback and ohh boy it's super loud and sounds amazing! Still on my break in period so I haven't heard it in higher RPMs but I have no doubt it will sound great! Highly recommend this product!!

  • Q: Fitment on 2006 WRX  BananaSammiches 1 month ago

    Answer

From what I understand, when Subaru made the switch from the EJ205 to the EJ255 for the 2006 WRX, they also changed the oil pan to the one used in the STI, and it is also the same setup used on the 08-14 WRXs. Knowing this, would these headers also fit the 06-07 WRXs, as the oil pan would provide the necessary clearance? Thanks in advance.

    • A: Unfortunately, we have no confirmed fitment for the 2002-2007 WRX models.

  • Q: Tomei up-pipe to turbo   PhilBarnak 5 months ago

    Answer

If possible please I would need the diameter where up-pipe meets with turbo thanks Basically I am looking if it would be good to port the exhaust side on the VF40 or 52 to meet up well with the turbo - up-pipe setup. For referal the OEM up-pipe is 41.4mm vf40 inlet is 44mm Thanks

    • A: The diameter is 60mm.

      Brady R 5 months ago
    • A: holy shenanigans! 60 mm is big step up to a 15 mm wall on the oem turbo inlet!! at 44-45mm lol I found a photo on the web about the Tomei EL hope it helps

  • Q: Rumble sound  Tsong 1 year ago

    Answer

Does it really take away the rumble sound? If it doesn't how much in percentage does it lose? I've read that you lose about 80% of the rumble sound and it'll sound like a honda. Is that true?

    • A: Equal length headers will change the sound of your car because it will change the way the exhaust exits. As far as a percentage, there isn't really a way to measure a rumble sound..?

  • Q: 02 wrx  jhall 1 year ago

    Answer

will this header fit an 02 wrx?

    • A: Unfortunately, we have no confirmed fitment for the 2002-2007 WRX models.

      Brady R 1 year ago
    • A: The primary bends are going to interfere with the stock oil pan on an earlier WRX. If you use the STi-style (or later 2.5L WRX style) oil pan, which is taller and narrower, it will fit. Everything else should clear. These have a good bit of crossmember clearance, so the only potential interference points on any '02-07 Impreza or Forester are the oil pan and the oil cooler/filter mount.
