Impressive, especially for the price. Great welds, great hardware kit, wrap and gaskets. My only gripe is right before it goes from two to one, is the o2 sensor bung is not in the greats location for equal reading of both tracts. I doesn't matter in reality, however it still is the principle of the thing. You also SHOULD fully port the turbo inlet, or at least port match, I went for the first. Combining these two will delay turbo spool (lag) but it will result in better mid to high flow/efficiency. I would also wrap it all, except for the slip joints, then once it installed, wrap them last. (picture below is prior to the final step).. You MUST get a pro tune (no OTS) and yes, you do lose the rumble, but lower your cylinder temps too.

Very nicely welded. Came with uppipe, header wrap with SS zip ties and all required bolts and gaskets for installation. Easily the best headers out there in terms of quality and value except for KillerB's.Was this review helpful?

A very excellent exhaust header and up pipe combo! I had mine ceramic coated to reduce heat but Tomei does provide exhaust wrap for it. The quality of the craftmanship is on point and exactly what you hope for in an aftermarket part. Install is pretty straight forward but instructions are provided as well. The third bolt from the header to up pipe can be somewhat difficult to get tightened down but if you loosely fit everything into place and take your time there should be no issue getting it tightened. The sound and performance benefits for these are too good. You can still hear a bit of that rumble at idle but once you get onto the accelerator you have a bit more of a dryer, aggresive tone (at least on my 06 STI with my catless DP and Invidia N1) and the spool is noticeably quicker, especially after a tune. Bottom line, if you've made the decision to go with ELH and have been considering these, I'd fully recommend them.

The headers give a more defined and powerful sound. Yes, you will lose the deep boxer rumble but the overall performance is 100% worth the loss. The spool time is noticeably quicker. Supporting parts and a tune will increase power incredibly. I'm at full boost around 2500RPM given supporting parts. It has a great sound and you can definitely tell it is well made. The welds are pristine and bolt up perfectly to the block and turbo! I highly recommend these headers!

This part is perfect in every way. Comes with all the needed parts to install and the slip joint came preset. Aside from some minor tuning (not required), the part was super easy to install. As others will tell you, the tone and rhythm of your exhaust will change. Some say sounds like an Evo, I still think it sounds like a Subaru, but just more refined.

Wow, What an amazing and beautiful header. The craftsmanship and fitment is just outstanding, I Immediately had this header ceramic coated at a local shop to reduce heat as I was going to be losing the stock heat shields and felt it would be a good idea. Only thing I wish that Tomei provided was the option of a External Wastegate on it's uppipe rather than having to spend an additional $400 for a GrimSpeed or other aftermarket up-pipe. Don't get me wrong this product is a solid buy and I would buy it again. The Equal Length Manifold is everything I could have asked for and more and personally I love the sound. Thanks Rally Sport Direct for getting the parts shipped out quickly and taking care of my order! (Tomei let's get the Up-pipe with external wastegate options going)

Bought these for my 2011 wrx and wow! I have a torqued performance etune and Eric was able to increase my torque by over 40ft lbs. These headers are beast mode and significantly increased performance. They are plug and play meaning you can run them without a tune but you will not get the most put of them if you don't tune for these headers. Now the elephant in the room, yes the sound does change but I don't I've a crap about that. It's way more aggressive and sounds mean as hell and especially with my muffler deletes. I could care less about the subaru rumble as I prprudly rock the six stars. The most important thing to me is raw performance and if that's what your looking for then these are a must

I didn't buy these through RSD, but since there's some key information missing from the product description, I decided to write up a review so anyone considering these can be better informed. First and foremost, I was a firm believer in staying UEL to retain that signature "boxer rumble," but oh, was I wrong. The benefits of switching to equal length far outweigh the sound. Trust me, you won't miss it. Power delivery is smoother and stays that way all through the powerband, you will gain power, the turbo spools faster, and you no longer have to worry about higher temps in cylinders 2 & 4. As far as the sound goes, yes, it will change the sound, but I can promise you that you will still be able to tell it's a Subaru. The rumble doesn't completely disappear, it just sounds smoother, more refined, if that makes sense. Now, onto the install. If you have an 06-07 WRX, you're lucky enough to own the only two years out of every WRX (up to 2014, not sure about 15+) and STI model where the oil cooler is different. The 06-07s use an angled adapter plate onto which the oil cooler mounts, and this causes it to interfere with the manifold runners coming off of the passenger side cylinder head. In order to fix this issue and get this manifold to clear everything properly, you'll need to find either an STI oil cooler, or any oil cooler from an 02-05 or 08-14 WRX. You will also need the bolt that comes with these different style oil coolers, as the one yours came with will be too short. Once you have these parts, you can remove the angled adapter plate and bolt your "new" oil cooler on, and everything will fit perfectly. You will lose almost all of your coolant, so make sure you have a spare jug or two handy when you perform this install. Might not be a bad idea to do an oil change while you're down there as well. Anyway, I hope this review helps someone who's thinking about making the switch. Learn from my mistakes, go straight to equal length. You won't regret it!
