Q: Header differences. StarryBoar3 years ago
So I would like to install the Tomei Experme Un-equal headers. Would this part be relevant? Or compatible? Thank you.
-
-
0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful
A: This is designed to be installed to the stock header and would not be compatible with aftermarket headers. As majority of aftermarket headers will be a full assembly, and the stock is a 2 piece with the cross pipe between.

Q: benefits scoobie4025 years ago
what are the benefits of using this product with stock headers, I'm going stage 2 with the Cobb V3 and wondering if i might see any power gains
-
-
0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful
A: I wouldn't expect much of a gain with just this pipe. It will work best with a pair of ported manifolds. Mike
GrimmSpeed -
0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful
A: Not so much power gains, but less back pressure on cylinders 2 & 4. Protect those fragile cylinders.

Q: loss of power or early spool? ctom246 years ago
is there a chance of loosing power with this cross pipe or spooling later? i've heard cases of both.
-
-
0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful
A: We recommend using this pipe with ported exhaust manifolds as it has a larger ID. When paired with our manifolds we have only seen increases in power over the factory set up. Mike

Q: Benefits? mbflinn6 years ago
I have a 2008 WRX with a straight-pipe catback exhaust and the factory air intake and the car is otherwise stock, at least as relates to the intake/exhaust/motor, and I am running an OTS Stage 1 map. If I installed this along with Grimmspeed's ceramic coated uppipe, could I expect to see any noticeable increase in performance without getting a retune? And would there be any danger whatsoever to adding those two pieces without retuning my ECU?
-
-
0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful
A: To take full advantage of the higher flowing parts a tune would be recommended but it's not necessary. You could install these with your stg 1 map and drive away. Mike

Q: Wrap? DrewPat7 years ago
Since it's ceramic coated, heat-wrapping of this wouldn't be needed right? Or in other words, wrapping it would not produce much benefit?
-
-
1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful
A: As it is coated it will work much better then a non-coated piece. However you would still see benefit from wrapping it.

Q: Cobb stage 2 ctom247 years ago
Currently i have a full turbo back as well as an AEM CAI. Would adding either a cross over pipe or an up pipe affect the off the shelf maps in any negative way? Would i still be able to run the OTS maps without any problem with either or both of the parts mentioned?
-
-
1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful
A: A tune is not necessary for an up pipe or cross pipe, therefore you can use those parts with your OTS map. A custom tune is recommended in order to get the full potential out of those parts though.

Q: Gaskets Sti20087 years ago
Which gaskets should i get with this piece and will it effect the exhaust note coming from the back of my sti
-
-
1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful
A: GRM 077001 is the associated part number for the gaskets you will need. Generally, a crosspipe does not alter the exhaust note.

Q: Stock headers Sti20087 years ago
Is this an easy bolt-on piece if your running a stock application and will this cause over boosting? Thank you
-
-
0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful
A: This is not the easiest piece of exhaust to replace on your car, but it is not too bad to install. This up pipe should not cause any over boosting or boost spikes. The average labor time seems to be between 2-5 hours.

so if I had aftermarket headers I wouldn't really need this, would I?

Q: What it does DrewPat7 years ago
So what exactly does this piece do? Also, where does it go?
-
-
1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful
A: This piece replaces the middle section of your OEM headers with a larger diameter pipe allowing for more exhaust flow to the turbo giving you a quicker spool.

Q: CEL fordtruck768 years ago
Will this crosspipe cause any ECU trouble codes on a WRX that is not using any engine management?
-

0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful
A: Nope, it should not cause any issues at all. This pipe does not replace any catalysts or anything of that sort, so you can use it without fear of a CEL. Thanks.
