Reduce the chances of heat soak with the Subtle Solutions Chimney Duct with Heatshield. These are designed for those of you who upgraded to the STI top mount intercoolers, and it may work with other aftermarket style intercoolers with some modification. This chimney duct will utilize the stock intercooler mounting bracket and provisions for fitment. The design of this chimney duct provides an outlet much like a chimney to allow any built up hot air to escape through your factory or aftermarket hood scoop. Additionally, this product will allow cooler air to travel through the chimney to push warmer air out of the engine bay and towards the ground.
The Chimney Duct has been fabricated from 304 stainless steel and has been CAD designed and CNC pressed and laser cut and will come in a brushed finish for a clean look. A rubber gasket will be provided, as well as hardware to make the Chimney Duct with Heatshield ready for installation.

A: This is intended for an STI intercooler. It should work with a stock tmic, but some modification may be needed.

A: Yes, absolutely. This chimney duct is designed to work with the stock (04-08) Forester Intercooler "TMIC" and will also fit the USDM (04-07) STI TMIC without ANY modifications. Some modifications to the heatshield and cutout on the lower box may be required IF you are running another non-factory / oem TMIC....like Perrin, Spearco, Grimmspeed, Process West, etc.
