  • Q: What gauges do I need?  ThorMotoXer5185 years ago

I'm used to driving turbo diesel trucks, and when upgrading and or aggressive driving EGTs are a critical number to make sure you don't melt your manifold. My '09 WRX is my first turbocharged gas car. My question is, how important are EGTs in a gas turbo application? I plan on using my car around town, track days, and hoonage on back country roads. Thanks for the help!
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  EGT's on gas engines are only important while tuning as the tuners will calibrate the ECU to stay within a certain range. So unlike Diesel trucks its not nearly as critical on cars.
