Features & Product Details

RallySport Direct is proud to provide you with alternative driveshaft options brought to you by PST.

On this page, you are looking at the PST Carbon Fiber Driveshaft. This is a great way to help relieve some of the rotational mass of the drivetrain so that you can transfer more power to the wheels.

Here are more details:

  • Made using strong, and lightweight carbon fiber materials
  • Smoother launches as carbon fiber will twist, absorbing much of the drivetrain shock instead of putting all the stress on the differentials
  • Improved throttle response, acceleration, and braking
  • Weighs just over 14lbs
  • Note: Due to OEM manufacturing tolerance, it may be necessary to modify or massage the under body and heat / dust shields for the driveshaft to fit.

It didn't fit... 2 years ago
    4out of 5stars

I wasn't planning on writing a review, but since I was sent a link I figured it might be best to share my experience. First let me just say the driveshaft is very high quality. I'm sure if it would have fit it would have been awesome. As for what happened. In the end there was no apparent reason why I had fitment issues and so many others have not. The only thing I could come up with is variances during the manufacturing process of the car. At any rate I had no clearance where the driveshaft exited the tunnel on the body going into the rear diff (see pic). One option is to make some extra clearance by massaging the body structure at that point upward. I did not want to do that so in the end I returned it. Rallysport's support through all this was great. They tried diligently to help me solve the problem even offering to help me get a custom shaft made. Something I might try in the future when I have more time. I still think this is a great mod. If you can do it and don't have the clearance issues I had go for it. It will reduce slop in the driveline and smooth out shifts making the car work better.

    Great product 5 years ago
    5out of 5stars

This shaft is great. I was expecting the performance gain, but was completely unprepared for how much quieter the drive train would be. It's a night and day difference. The car is easier to drive around town and there's no jerky movement during throttle transition anymore.

    Nice Mod 5 years ago
    4out of 5stars

I would really love to give this product 5 out of 5, however there are a few reasons why it is not perfect. The quality of the driveshaft is impeccable, you don't have to worry about snapping this. The input shaft does not seem to go all the way into place, and it seems that there is an exposed area where it connects. The stock one had a shield to protect the connection from the elements. There is a noticeable vibration at 80 mph, and after 110 mph onwards. I think it needs to be balanced, I am not sure if they do that at PST. As far as the performance aspects, you can definitely feel it, In any rpm band.

Almost like going from Stage 1 to Stage 2. 6 years ago
    5out of 5stars

First thing I noticed...the tachometer jumps very fast on the first gear. Also deceleration appears to be very quick. Mine seems a bit noisy, and slightly added more vibration to the cabin. Overall, great upgrade if you don't plan on upgrading the turbo on stock internals and blowing up the engine.

    Very good 6 years ago

Minimal issues with installation. Small but surely noticable power and torque increase everywhere, more prominent below 4000rpm. Also turbo spools aprox 2-300rpm sooner! Also reduced weight. Highly recommended.

    • Q: Confirmation of fitment  Stefan10 months ago

Hi! I got a 06' Impreza WRX STI (JDM), 2.0l Twinscroll with the 6-Speed MT, Stock RearDiff. and would like to know whether or not this drivetrain will fit my car? Or is it just for the US-, EDM-Models? Greetings Stefan

What's the rated top speed and wheel horsepower?
      • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  That is a great question and comes with lots of variables. It depends on how the car is set up and what it's being used for. In an optimal setup with bigger tires for drag racing, around 500 whp. Daily driving on a non optimal set up probably closer to 700 ish whp. it really just depends! If you want to email in with your set up to [email protected] then we can go over it and give you a more definite answer.

    • Q: Differential Cover/Protecto  JoshSti2 years ago

Would there be any issues if I have the Differential Cover/Protector(SPT) installed on my car?
      • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We are not able to confirm their fitment 100% but there should be not issues with the two parts compatibility.
