The Fumoto Oil Drain Plug has been designed to make oil changes faster without the mess by simply flipping the open valve in the drain plug. This is a great option for those who change the oil on their own and don't want to create a mess on their hands, or on the driveway. Additionally, you lessen the risk of stripping the threads on the oil pan from frequent oil changes.
The Fumoto Valve opens by lifting it, then turning it by 90 degrees. And do the reverse when you need to close the valve. The valve stays locked, and it is double sealed to prevent leakage, and it can withstand engine vibrations. The Fumoto Valve is fabricated from forged brass and stainless steel to resist corrosion and to last the lifetime of your engine.
This particular Fumoto Valve comes in the M16-1.5 thread pitch, and it comes with a nipple for those who want the option of attaching a hose to the drain plug

does not fit a subaru wrx 2015. I've set my car and this popped up as an item. I don't know why it's on there if it doesn't fit a wrx. I wish that they'd have the right side that did fit cause I really would like to get one of these...

Whether you are doing your own oil changes, or you take it to one of those shops where naive 16 year-old's work on your car, THIS is always my first upgrade on vehicles (4 cars and counting). It makes an oil change so much quicker and without the mess. The reason I advise you to use this even if you have oil changes done FOR you is that I have been to numerous shops (before I decided to do oil myself) and on 3 different occasions they FORGOT to tighten the oil drain plug or spilled oil all over my headers! You might brush that off and be like "eh, the smell goes away when it burns off". Well its carcinogenic and terrible to inhale such fumes, so please don't take it lightly. Not only that, competent shops occasionally will over/under-tighten the crush washer, thus causing leaks. So the fact this valve omits removing and re-installing a crush washer each time, it saves money in the long run but also lessens the chance of a leak. That being said, this simplifies the oil changing process for everyone and actually removes and entire step in the process, less room for error is good for everyone. Safe driving y'all. (PS> I have used this valve with the blue washer it comes with, doubled up with a Subaru crush washer, but it is NOT necessary to use the crush washer. Neither situation leaked on me)
