Dimple Magnetic Drain Plugs are designed to keep harmful contaminants away from internal moving components within your oiling system. Parts such as your rods and crankshaft are under continuous movement creating friction that can expel tiny metal particles. Your oil filter can only catch so much of these elements, so the rest gets recirculated back into the oiling system.
The magnet in the Dimple Drain Plug will pull these harmful particles to the bottom of the drain pan, and out of the oil stream. This results in longer engine life, and cleaner oil.
Please note that in late 2010, Subaru began using a new size engine drain plug on some models from a M20, to the smaller M16X1.5X12. If the head of your drain plug requires a 14mm tool, then your car needs the M16 plug.

Had a very tiny oil leak with the previous drain plug, guess it was O.E.M. The Dimple Drain Plug took care of the problem!!

My wife has a 2015 Subaru Impreza 5-door 2.0 CVT According to what I could find from Dimple, Subaru Parts website and actual Dealer...no one can say exactly what the specs are for my drain plug. So, I bought the one that Dimple suggested in their description. It didn't fit, way too wide...but it went into my mom's MY09 Forester. Does exactly what it claims to do- keep oil in, help get metallic debris out. Next I'm trying the M16x1.5x12 I'll review that item after I get a chance to try it out.

There's no reason not to buy this. Magnet is strong and quality seems just fine.
Magnetic Drain Plug

The plug is extremely well made and of course is easy to install. The reason I chose the Dimple drain plug is because the quality of the magnet is superior to other plugs that I looked at. I've used rare earth magnets for a variety of things at work and I was impressed with the power of this magnet. It may cost more than other plugs but is definitely worth it!
Very Strong Magnet

Excellent Quality. I installed this on a 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i MT. Very strong magnet. Careful on install as its magnet will quickly attach to the oil pan.

Q: Fitment for killer b? EvenTheScore 3 years agoAnswer
Will This fit the killer b aluminum pan for an 04 wrx? just as well will it cause any issues if i run a 1/2 npt dimple magnetic plug as well in the second hole on the killer b pan?
A: The Killer B pan uses an OE sized drain port which this plug should work with, but we have not tested compatibility and could not guarantee fitment. Same goes for the 1/2NPT plug, it should work but it is a universal part.
