Description

Grimmspeed’s catted J-pipe/downpipe for the 2015 models with the manual transmission option is here, and once again meticulous engineering meets elegant design. If you’re in the market for one of the best aftermarket catted downpipes, look no further. This is a direct bolt on no hassle replacement that is designed with one piece construction, excellent ground clearance, with superb quality and craftsmanship. Let’s look at their other features.

• This is a one piece tube with Grimmspeed’s patented turbo flange design. This flange is ½” thick while retaining all OEM brackets.
• Provides a smooth 3.5 to 3” transition from the turbine outlet to the rest of the pipe.
• Excellent ground clearance without having to alter suspension components.
• Custom stainless turbo studs to accommodate the Grimmspeed ½” flanges.
• Standard 3rd O2 bung for use of aftermarket sensors.
• 300 Cell Metallic Substrate Catalytic Converter. Provides an excellent balance of reduced restriction of a ‘race cat’ compared to a 200 cel unit.

These are 100% made in the U.S.A., and come provided with all the necessary gaskets and hardware for a ready installation.

Incredible Part, Sounds Great
iamthebobkat55327 4 months ago
It took me a bit to line up this install and pro-tune but I got it all squared away and it sounds absolutely phenomenal. You hear your turbo spool very clearly but it's nothing too obnoxious. Install was pretty easy. Just WD-40 the turbo studs before you try to take the nuts off. I had no trouble with them stripping or cross threading. AWESOME product Grimmspeed.

Great quality, bolted right on my 2018 wrx premium. Comes with all the gaskets needed and new studs and nuts for the turbo. Only difficult part was getting the oem one out.

J-pipe
vttitan18 1 year ago
The j-pipe is a great piece. Fitment is perfect and the sound is so much more aggressive paired with my Greddy catback. Getting the stock pipe off is by far the toughest obstacle with this install and penetrating oil is a must. I would also recommend the SK semi-deep impact socket because it made the nuts on the studs much more accessible to reach. Overall the j-pipe is a quality piece and it really brings the FA motor to life. Install is a breeze and it includes all necessary gaskets and hardware.

  • Q: COBB Stage 2 MAP & Nameless Catback  PJ 3 months ago

    Answer

This J-Pipe should be safe to run with a COBB Stage 2 map, right? Also, will this mate with my 3" Nameless Performance midpipe or will I need an adapter/gasket? Thank you

    • A: Although Cobb, doesn't guarantee their off-the-shelf maps with other manufacturers' exhaust components, plenty of people do run them that way. After speaking with a rep at Nameless, you would not need an adapter, the tapered end of the existing donut gasket should set into the flange on your midpipe, with the other end onto the 2 bolt flange.

  • Q: Question   Ryan 9 months ago

    Answer

Will I need a converter for this downpipe to my nameless axelback? TYA

    • A: If using the OEM midpipe paired to your axleback exhaust, you would want to use an adapter like part number GRM 077044 with a new dount gasket.

  • Q: Catback Compatibility  cmullin16374 10 months ago

    Answer

Can I use this J-pipe with a Cobb catback exhaust?

    • A: Yes it will but you will need a 3 inch downpipe to stock catback adapter.

  • Q: Cat position  DavidJ 2 years ago

    Answer

Is the cat moved towards the rear to help with heat buildup under engine bay?

    • A: Typically it's common for aftermarket exhausts to have the cat furthest away from the Turbo, for less restriction Post-Turbo, which should help with all around flow.
