Grimmspeed’s catted J-pipe/downpipe for the 2015 models with the manual transmission option is here, and once again meticulous engineering meets elegant design. • This is a one piece tube with Grimmspeed’s patented turbo flange design. This flange is ½” thick while retaining all OEM brackets.
• Provides a smooth 3.5 to 3” transition from the turbine outlet to the rest of the pipe.
• Excellent ground clearance without having to alter suspension components.
• Custom stainless turbo studs to accommodate the Grimmspeed ½” flanges.
• Standard 3rd O2 bung for use of aftermarket sensors.
• 300 Cell Metallic Substrate Catalytic Converter. Provides an excellent balance of reduced restriction of a ‘race cat’ compared to a 200 cel unit.
These are 100% made in the U.S.A., and come provided with all the necessary gaskets and hardware for a ready installation.

I love this downpipe. Install was easy, the hardest part was breaking the top right oem bolt on the turbo loose, other than that everything fit like a glove. I recommend this to anyone considering a j-pipe upgrade. The sound and quality is amazing.

It took me a bit to line up this install and pro-tune but I got it all squared away and it sounds absolutely phenomenal. You hear your turbo spool very clearly but it's nothing too obnoxious. Install was pretty easy. Just WD-40 the turbo studs before you try to take the nuts off. I had no trouble with them stripping or cross threading. AWESOME product Grimmspeed.
Great quality, bolted right on my 2018 wrx premium. Comes with all the gaskets needed and new studs and nuts for the turbo. Only difficult part was getting the oem one out.
The j-pipe is a great piece. Fitment is perfect and the sound is so much more aggressive paired with my Greddy catback. Getting the stock pipe off is by far the toughest obstacle with this install and penetrating oil is a must. I would also recommend the SK semi-deep impact socket because it made the nuts on the studs much more accessible to reach. Overall the j-pipe is a quality piece and it really brings the FA motor to life. Install is a breeze and it includes all necessary gaskets and hardware.

In your opinion, is there any reason why some manufacturers place the catalytic converter immediately post turbo while others chose to place it more downsteeam like with this Grimmspeed unit?

A: In theory, a cat placed further back will have less back pressure. That said, having the cat closer to the turbo will heat the catalyst more quickly and allow it to perform more efficiently, so there are benefits to both configurations.

A: Catless downpipes will only cause boost creep if tuned improperly, but this catted downpipe will be your safest bet when using OTS maps.

A: The Borla tapers down to a stock 2.5" flange, you'll want to run a 3" downpipe to OEM catback adapter.
