Features & Product Details

You are looking at a top-of-the-line fully USA built Grimmspeed Downpipe. All materials, engineering, R&D, fabrication, etc are straight out of the USA. The tubing is CNC Mandrel Bent 304 Stainless Steel using their custom made bend dies which give you the best fit and performance possible. Please take a second to check out these 304 Stainless Steel flanges which are a serious work of art. All 3 sides of the flanges are CNC Machined to perfection. The outlet of the downpipe has a standard 3” 2-Bolt flange that will mate up with most aftermarket cat-backs on the market. They have also included a wideband O2 bung for you if needed. Having a secondary o2 Bung give you a provision if you want to use a wideband O2 gauge.

During their design, they utilize their in-house 7-axis FARO™ Arm to obtain extremely accurate fitments. What this means is, they scan all of the mounting points on the car, bring those into their CAD software, and then begin designing the pipe around their scanned OEM data in their Solidworks CAD software. Most downpipes(or exhaust pipes for that matter) on the market are designed using fixtures. Essentially their competitors will create a welding fixture by handoff of an OEM part. This leads to a ton of chances for things to be off. They don't take those chances. They have spent the capital on R&D equipment where others have not.

Because this product replaces/removes an OEM emissions control device we must state that this product is for offroad use only.

New hardware and gaskets will be included to make this downpipe ready for the installation.

GrimmSpeed Downpipe Catted Divorced ( Part Number: 007082)
Couldn't be more pleased. Perfect 2 years ago
This downpipe looks fantastic with the double pipes and sounds really good (mated with Invidia G200). One note, you will need a bigger turbo heat shield or modify the stock one. I had to cut some of my stock heat shield out to fit the two pipes. Fitment is perfect, every bolt or tab lined up no problem at all. Welds are really good quality and the bends look perfect. Great great quality. Highly recommended!

Grimmspeed divorced cat less 3 years ago
Just installed this today with the cobb cat back exhaust and all I can say is Bazinga!! This downpipe is absolutely amazing. Coming from a cat less downpipe on my 2006 WRX Wagon there is absolutely no comparison between the two. The welds on this pipe are beautiful and it just looks like business all the way around. I was surprised at how much room you have in between the pipe and the firewall. My old cat less pipe basically touched the firewall and was a bit of an eye sore. Boost comes on a little later then my old set up but it feels so much more linear and predictable. I can tell my car is very appreciative of this downpipe. Waste gate noise is wonderful and I am now a believer in the divorced waste gate design. All in all you can not go wrong with anything Grimmspeed, especially this downpipe. Thanks again RSD!

Great downpipe!  3 years ago
The fitment is perfect. I was pleasantly surprised to see how great this item was packaged. It bolted right up to my current exhaust and was a breeze to install. 5/5 stars

Fantastic! 3 years ago
Bought this downpipe for my 2007 Subaru WRX, for a variety of reasons: it looks like a very well engineered and very well built piece, it came with Grimmspeed's high praised downpipe gaskets(which are indeed about twice as thick as the OEM gasket), it was on sale at the time, and it comes with Grimmspeed's reputation for very high quality products. While removing the factory downpipe, two rusted spring bolts ended up being broken, and I was concerned about using the solid bolts that were provided by Grimmspeed instead of using spring bolts. I was able to call Grimmspeed support and immediately speak with an engineer who was able to assure me that this situation was common and the solid bolts would be fine. The rest of the install actually involving their downpipe went flawlessly. The pipe fits and bolts up just like the OEM piece. No wrestling was needed, no vibrations after install either. The GrimmSpeed DP-to-Catback adapter was used on this install. Only had to re-torque the DP-to-Catback bolts the next day after running the car, and all has been well so far(about a week and a half). Overall this is an excellent downpipe for the WRX and I would recommend it to anyone shopping for one. Also, as a bonus, my downpipe shipped with two GrimmSpeed license plate covers, which looks fantastic on the car!

  • Q: Cobb vs grimmspeed   Nelson Asay1 year ago

I already have a cobb downpipe. Love it and the sound. But does this offer bigger power gains over the cobb? Also what is divorced by the way? Thanks RSD!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You will not see much of a power difference or sound between this and the Cobb. Divorced and bellmouth just refer to the orientation of the connection to the turbo. You will notice that the difference between this and the Cobb is that the Cobb has a lot more open space on the wastegate side.

  • Q: Tune?  Introvert2 years ago

Does this require a tune? And what will I need to hook this up to an HKS Catback exhaust?
  • Q: Fitment  jimmy4bi9870333 years ago

Will this bolt up to a Cobb Catback?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will, although you will want to use the 3" downpipe to stock catback adapter since the COBB is designed to directly fit to a stock downpipe.

  • Q: 2004 Forester XT with AT  tajsls3 years ago

Do you know if this pipe will work with a 2004 Forester XT with an automatic transmission?
  • Q: 3 inch downpipe with 2.5 inch exhaust?  Jbreezy3 years ago

will using this 3 inch downpipe with my 2.5 inch exhaust cause any problems? or lack of power? or backflow or anything? are there any pros and cons to buying a 3 inch catback to go with it?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  A 3 catback will allow for more power but oftentimes the differences are minimal depending on the power level. It may be a large bottleneck with a much larger turbocharger making more power, but at a stage 2 level it is barely going to be noticeable. The only other downside to using a 3 downpipe with a stock catback is requiring a 3 downpipe to stock catback adapter which we have available from Grimmspeed.
