Dimple Magnetic Transmission/Front Differential Drain Plug M26x1.5x16
Subaru Manual Models (inc. 2002-2020 WRX/STI / 1998-2013 Forester)
Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct is proud to carry the Dimple Magnetic Transmission/Front Differential Drain Plug. It is always a great idea to equip your vehicle with a magnetic drain plug whether it be for your oil or your drivetrain because they do a great job of trapping the metallic contaminants and tiny metallic particles floating in your oil. Your oil filter can only trap metallic particles that are larger than 35 microns but anything smaller than that will slip through the cracks.

It has a very strong magnet. I put son metal dust on the OEM drain plug and this one took off the dust from the OEM. Even though it's a great quality item, I think it's overpriced. Overall, 4/5.
Contrary to the note, this does fit the 2016 WRX STI transmission.
I really liked the idea of this plug, I have been using their magnetic plugs on my rear diff and oil pan for a while so I figured I would get this too. I torqued it to spec, and after a few months I noticed it was seeping slightly and leaking fluid, which is not great...
Purchased this to replace the T70 torx bolt and so happy I did. Excellent quality. Hefty magnet. Perfect fit. 10/10 would buy again.
Worth it, strong magnet.

Q: Plug subaruwrx913 years ago
Would this just be a direct fit for my 02 wrx sedan? I went underneath to check my bolt and it takes a 21mm socket to take off? Will this be a direct fit? Lmk, thanks!

Q: Will this work for 2011 STi transmission fill plug? bboytaktix5 years ago
My 2011 STI's transmission FILL plug (the one on the side of the transmission) is stripped (it is an allen key head)...will this work to replace it or is the thread a different size? If not do you have a replacement product?

A: This is the drain plug and will not work as the fill plug. We would recommend measuring the thread pitch on the current filler plug and looking for a plug once you know the correct size and pitch.

Q: Drain only, not fill? XavierRage6 years ago
Just to be completely clear, this will only replace the drain plug, NOT the fill plug on the transmission? (Unlike the 3/4 drain and fill plugs on the rear differential.) My application is for a 2005 WRX 5spd.
