  • Q: Torque specs for m8 bolt  Chuck1 year ago

There are no given torque specs for the m8 bolts would 19 ft lbs be enough

A:  The following answer came from Kenji at Cusco: "We don't set our specific torque number for M8 bolts (use with the supplied nut with stay) officially. I checked the torque by hand and 19 lbs is not enough. We would say 28 lbs. It is small bolt and does not require high toque."

A:  28 ft lbs seams way to high for a m8x1.25 bolt. Only if it's a grade 12.9. It's stamped 11 on bolt. Not sure were this hardware is from. I actually went to 15 ft lbs and that almost seams close to shearing it. Definitely don't want that to happen because I don't think stay would come back out with broken bolt in it. Also dot want to break the tack welds. Are you sure Kenji isn't referring to inch pounds
