Great buy 2 years ago
Bought these coilovers to install on my 2004 STi. They run great, smooth, no noises or squeaks. Easy installation. I autox often and they've held up well and no unnecessary bodyroll. The car is daily driven as well and haven't had any issues bottoming out or any issues with a harsh ride. Was this review helpful?

I don't even know where to start with these. I have an 03 wrx and these claim you can reuse OEM mounts so I went to dealership and bought brand new mounts not knowing the 04-07 rear mounts fit and the 02-03 wrx rear mounts do not,( front mounts are the same) so I started to do install just to find out they expect you to grind down the lip on the rear mounts to make them fit. Had to put my old struts back in and find a table grinder. And by free handing them on a table grinder I ended up with a little bit of play between the driver side rear mount and the top of the coilover witch rattled around like crazy . This is not my fault and extremely disappointing. I had to pull the coilover and put rubber in the base of the mount to get rid of the play. This wasted a lot of my time. This is just the beginning of the BS . I have had these on for less than a month and they developed a squeaking / rubbing noise. I triple checked everything to make sure nothings rubbing and it's torqued to spec. this noise is coming from the internal of the coilovers, after I developed this noise I searched 'ST coilover noise' on google and there are tons of write ups from people having the same issue with there squeaky STs. They explained the noise exactly as it sounds to me. ST denies there's an issue with there line of coilovers. When I contacted them because I have a 5 yr warranty the claim there dyno cannot replicate a noise. Basically telling me if I send them in there's a chance there going to say there fine and send them back when they are not fine they are embarrassing to drive with. I needed new struts on my car and thoughts these would be a good replacement considering there made by KW I was 100% wrong! In order to send them out to ST I need something to swap in there because I need my car to get to work everyday and cannot afford to miss work for this basically I'm out 900$ for squeaky junk I don't have a lot of money and am upset with this. I don't blame RSD for this but I think they should stop selling this squeaky garbage !
